Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 2, 11, 12 and 24. Jackpot of €3,000 not won. This week's four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: Hugh McCague c/o Séamus Treanor; Bríd Bradley c/o ClubZap; Eugene Greenan c/o Séamus Treanor; and Donagh Smyth c/o Dermot Coyle. The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Matt McCaughey. Jackpot for Sunday, April 28 is €3,100. Thanks to everyone for your continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club and is funding our ongoing development works. Online club shop: Our online Playr-Fit club shop is currently open for orders until midnight next Wednesday, May 1. Please note new replica juvenile kits are now required for matches and blitzes, so if you need one for this season please order now. See our social media for the link.

 

Spring Clean: As part of a continued effort to strengthen club and community links, a big group of members of each section of the Harps participated in a National Spring Clean Litter Pick in conjunction with Monaghan Tidy Towns last Saturday. Thanks to everyone who took part and especially to the Monaghan Harps Green Club Committee for co-ordinating.

 

Healthy Club workshop: As part of the Healthy Club Initiative, we are delighted to be hosting a workshop next Monday evening to raise awareness of the effects of alcohol and substance abuse. As a club and community, it is important that we educate ourselves on the risks of alcohol and substance abuse to our physical and mental health. Information will also be shared regarding supports available to those who may need them. Thank you to our Healthy Club Officer Úna Forde for organising this event, we have no doubt it will be well supported. The workshop is open to all parents, coaches and players over 18. No booking is necessary; just come along on the night.

 

IFL: We host Doohamlet in the Intermediate Football League this Saturday at 7pm. All support welcome.

 

After-school programme: Following on from the success of our Easter after-school Gaelic Football coaching sessions at St. Mary's Boys' National School, we are running a further programme, in partnership with Monaghan GAA, until May 29. Thanks to everyone involved.

 

Juvenile coaching: We were delighted to welcome our youngest juveniles for the return of our Saturday-morning football coaching over the last few weeks. Thanks to everyone involved. Training continues every Saturday at 10am in Gavan Duffy. To register a new or existing player, please log on to the Foireann app or www.foireann.ie.

 

Reserves: We lost out away to Scotstown in the RFL Division 1A last Saturday.

Minors: Our minors had a good win at home to Castleblayney on Tuesday evening, while our Division Four team started their league with a loss to Scotstown on Saturday. The Division Four league continues away to Aughnamullen next Tuesday, with the next Division One game taking place on May 7.

 

U-16: Our U-16s lost out in a good contest at home to Truagh last Thursday.

U-14: Another busy weekend for our U-14s starts with a Division 5B game at home to Clontibret this evening (Friday). The Division 5A lads host Magheracloone on Sunday. Please note that the Division One game against Castleblayney scheduled for Saturday has been postponed.

 

U-12: Well done to our U-12s, who hosted Carrickmacross in the Spring League on Saturday.

 

DIL: Darkness Into Light returns to Monaghan Town in the early hours of Saturday, May 11, with registration now open.

 

County: Good luck to all the county teams in action this week and to all our Harps representatives. Hard luck to Gary Devlin, Jake McConnon, Seán Callan, Luke McManus, Michael McMorrow, Oisín Reilly and the Monaghan U-20s, who fell just short in their Ulster semi-final on Wednesday night.

 

Registration: Thanks to everyone who has renewed their membership for 2024: your continued support is appreciated. GRMA to our new registrar Claire Ní Dhufaigh for her efforts. It is essential that all players at each grade are registered ASAP. Míle buíochas.

 

Gaelic4Mothers&Others: Monaghan Harps Ladies are organising a Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others programme, which is due to start in April/May. See the poster on the Harps Ladies social media for more details.

 

Club app: As well as offering an option to support our lotto, our new club app also has a function to pay your annual membership, make financial donations to the club, as well as a communication suite for all that goes on at the club.
