Upcoming club events: The countdown is on for our championship preview night in the Hillgrove Hotel at 7.30pm this Saturday, April 9, where we look forward to welcoming some high-profile guests. The likes of Seán Boylan, Seán Cavanagh, Aaron Kernan, Dick Clerkin, Owen Lennon, Malachy O'Rourke, Conleith Gilligan and David Brady will be looking ahead to the inter-county championship season along with our own Shane Hannon in what promises to be a great night. We are also honouring our 2020 IFC winners and our 2021 RFL Division 1B winners on the night and we would like to encourage all Harps families to come along and enjoy the craic. Limited tickets are available now via ClubZap or by contacting Rose Donnelly on 086 0825782. Please book early!

Juvenile presentation night: Our juvenile presentation night takes place in our clubhouse next Tuesday, April 12, at 7.30pm. We are delighted that we will have the Sam Maguire Cup available for photographs from 6-7pm and after the presentations (approx. 8.30 to 10pm). All club members are welcome to lend their support.

Scór: As a club, we were very proud to have three acts in the Ulster Scór na nÓg finals in Silverbridge last Saturday. This was a great achievement for our music group (Ciara Ní Riordáin, Dearbhla Ní Mhearáin, Oisín Ó Raghallaigh, Fionán Ó Gallchóir and Mark Ó Cleirchín); singing group (Aoibhinn Ní Chraoibhinn, Hannah Nic Uaid, Amy Nic Domhnaill, Caoimhe Ní Néill and Dearbhla Ní Mhearáin) and our solo singer Dearbhla Ní Mhearáin. Competition was tough across the board and we were delighted to see Dearbhla go through to the All-Ireland stages as Ulster champion. Thanks to all the parents and Harps supporters who were there to support us on the day. Go raibh mile maith agaibh to Niamh Coyle and Aoife McCabe for all their help. Well done to the county and Ulster committees, especially Mickey Corrigan and Mairéad Boyle. We wish Dearbhla the best of luck in the All-Ireland in Killarney at the start of next month.

DIL: Darkness Into Light returns in its traditional format on May 7. The launch for this year's event will take place in our clubhouse tonight (Thursday, April 7) at 7.30pm. All welcome.

Reserves: We lost out at home to Latton in the RFL Division 1A last Saturday. Latton led the way, but points by Lochlainn Power, Luke McManus and Evan Doherty kept us in touch, while Evan also hit the net just before half-time to half our deficit at 2-6 to 1-6. Kevin Moran and Conor Duffy added points after the restart to keep it tight, but even though Dean Doherty fired home our second goal during the final quarter, Latton pushed on to win on a scoreline of 3-14 to 2-8.

Team and scorers: Daragh Croarkin; Jake McConnon, Liam Conway, Jamie Shields; Gary Devlin, Kevin Moran (0-1), Nathan Lavery; Lochlainn Power (0-1), Conor Duffy (0-1); Shea Swift, Niall Hahessy, Niall Greenan (Capt.); Dean Doherty (1-0), Evan Doherty (1-3, 0-3f), Luke McManus (0-2, 1f).

U-15: Our U-15 Division 5B team started their league with a home game against Donaghmoyne last night (Wednesday). The Division One league begins at home to Clontibret this evening (Thursday) at 7pm. Good luck to all involved.

U-13: Our U-13 teams started their Spring League campaigns with a busy schedule in the last week. After travelling to both ends of the county to take on Truagh and Inniskeen last Wednesday, they were back in action on Saturday in a double-header at home to Scotstown, which resulted in a draw in Group B and a good win in Group H. Group K continued with a rescheduled away game against Magheracloone last night (Wednesday).

U-11: Our U-11s begin their season away to Truagh this Saturday at 11am. Good luck to all involved.

Saturday-morning coaching: Our U-9, U-7 and nursery groups started back at their weekly coaching sessions last Saturday. Thanks to all the coaches, parents and everyone who helped out on the morning and in preparing for the return of these groups. We are glad to have everyone back and lots of new members; we look forward to the months ahead. Well done to Úna Forde who co-ordinated the collection of McCaughey Fuels tokens that earned us training equipment for our Saturday-morning coaching.
