Meeting: We will have a club meeting in the clubhouse tomorrow night (Thursday) at 8.30pm

Seniors: We lost by the narrowest of margins in our second Intermediate Football Championship Group Two game away to Seán McDermotts last Sunday. Points by Éimhín Morahan and Conor McCrystal had us narrowly ahead approaching half-time, but the Seáns hit the net to lead by 1-5 to 0-5 at the break. With Neil McAdam kicking a brace of long-range points and Lochlainn Power and Conor McCrystal also on target, we edged ahead midway through the second half, before Jake McConnon strode forward to score his first senior goal. Seán McDermotts kicked the last four points in a frustrating finish to the game, however, to win by 1-11 to 1-10. We host Toome in the penultimate round of the group stage on Saturday week, September 3.

Pitch development: Monaghan Harps GAA Club is developing its grounds to improve how we serve the local community. Our second pitch is to be upgraded from a clay pitch to sand-based to allow trainings to continue even in the darker, wetter months. A third sand-based pitch to help accommodate the large and growing numbers in our club community. With football (ladies' & men's), hurling and handball, our club's facilities & coaches provide for so many in our community. To develop our pitches, access and look at floodlit facilities for the future, please help our club's growth financially through buying the lotto each week on the ClubZap app or from our many sellers.

Minor: Our U-17 Division One team were pipped at the finish of Monday's championship opener away to Scotstown. First-half goals from Fionán Ó Gallchóir and John McCrystal and points by Fionán and Senan Cudden were enough for us to lead by 2-2 to 0-6 at half-time, but Scotstown moved ahead with a strong start to the second half. Our lads rallied again, with points from John, Ethan McCaffrey and Eoin O'Hanlon bringing us back on level terms, but Scotstown struck back late on to win by 0-12 to 2-5. We host Emyvale in round two of the group stage on Monday evening.

Team and scorers: Oisín Reilly; Fergal Magee, Shane Moran, Dara Mullin; Kyle Cooney, Mark Clerkin, Seán Callan; Senan Cudden (Capt., 0-1), Eoin O'Hanlon (0-1); Ethan McCaffrey (0-1f); Dónal Moran, Cian Bradley, Max Mallen; Fionán Ó Gallchóir (1-1, 0-1f), John McCrystal (1-1).

U-13: Our U-13 Division Two team fell just short with a second-half comeback at home to Tyholland last Saturday. A slow start left our lads facing an uphill battle, but a spirited effort closed the gap to just three points by the end on a scoreline of 4-4 to 4-7.
