Monaghan Harps Lotto: We are delighted to have resumed our club lotto, using the ClubZap platform. The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 3, 5, 11 and 30. Jackpot not won. The four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were Chris O'Connell c/o Paddy Donnelly; Adrian Toal c/o Jimmy Croarkin; Maggie Deery c/o Paddy Donnelly; and Owen & Gráinne Connell (direct debit) c/o Owen Connell. The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Dermot Coyle. Jackpot for Sunday, August 30 is €6,000. The club is asking members willing and financially able to contribute through our lotto towards club maintenance and running expenses. This can be done by two options: set up a standing order to our club lotto via quarterly or annual payments or using our new club app by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone, registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member and buying club lotto in bulk or on a weekly basis. Anyone interested can contact either Rose Donnelly (086 0825782); Maria McKenna (086 1057725) or Adrian Dalton (087 7859582). Thanks to everyone for their support. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday, while physical tickets should be with the lotto committee by 9pm.

Seniors: We ended our McElvaney Recycling Intermediate Football Championship group stage with a hard-earned, spirited win away to Emyvale on Tuesday, August 18. The momentum swung several times during the first half, with an early goal for us from Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh being cancelled out by a brace from Emyvale. Points from Neil McAdam, Stephen Driver, Conor McCrystal, Gary White and Michael Galligan had us level at 1-7 to 2-4 at half-time. Emyvale made a strong start to the second half to re-establish a three-point lead, but points from Conor and Michael Galligan and Lochlainn Power helped keep us in touch and we pushed on in the closing stages, with Stephen, Conor Galligan, Conor McCrystal and John Mulligan on target. A 1-15 to 2-10 win left us waiting on Saturday's final-round games to decide our final position in the group and with results going in our favour, we finished in third place ahead of Killanny on head-to-head records. We now take on Corduff in the quarter-finals in Aughnamullen this Saturday at 5.45pm. Please note that this game will unfortunately be played behind closed doors as per a recent government decision.

Team and scorers: Conor Callan; Jamie Shields, Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh (1-0), Thomas Croarkin; John Mulligan (0-1), Conn O'Hanlon, Nicholas Scott; Stephen Driver (0-2), Neil McAdam (0-1); James McKenna, Conor Galligan (0-2), Shane McMahon; Conor McCrystal (0-3, 1f), Gary White (0-1f), Lochlainn Power (0-1).

Subs: Dylan McAree for Callan (inj., 5 mins), Michael Galligan (0-4, 2f) for McKenna, Dean Doherty for McMahon (both 26), Éimhín Morahan for Shields (42), Remy McKenna for Power (48).

JFC: We host the JFC quarter-final between Aughnamullen and Aghabog at Gavan Duffy Park this Sunday at 2pm. Like all championship games this weekend, this will be played behind closed doors.

Minors: Our U-17s hosted Donaghmoyne in the penultimate round of the Maguire International Division One Championship group stage on Tuesday, August 18. A slow start left us chasing the game, but points from Tiarnán O'Rourke, Shay Cooney, Kevin Moran and Gary Devlin left us trailing by the minimum at half-time (0-6 to 0-5). Luke McManus kicked a series of fine scores during the second half, while Shea Swift and Tiarnán added a point each, but we fell short by the narrowest of margins (0-11 to 1-9).

Team and scorers: Daragh Croarkin; Jordan Crampton, Nathan Lavery, James Curley; Mark McManus, Kevin Moran (0-1), Jake McConnon; Tiarnán O'Rourke (Capt., 0-3, 2f), Liam Conway; Michael McMorrow, Gary Devlin (0-1), Shea Swift (0-1); Luke McManus (0-4, 1f), Shay Cooney (0-1f), Jake Power.

Subs used: Jamie Coyle, Fachtna Mac Conghail.

We faced Magheracloone on Tuesday in our last round-robin game. See ClubZap/social media for result.

U-15: Our U-15 Division One game in Truagh was postponed last week and is now to be played this Thursday evening at 6.45. Donaghmoyne proved too strong for our Division Five team on Friday.

U-13: Our U-13 teams lost out to strong opposition in Clontibret on Monday evening. Both teams host Carrickmacross this Saturday: Division One at 12 noon, Division Five at 1.15pm.

GAA return: We are grateful to our ever-willing volunteers and our Covid supervisors for their efforts throughout the return to play. Dressing rooms will remain closed until further notice, while club games are unfortunately now to be played 'behind closed doors' as per a Government announcement last week.

You can get involved by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.
