The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Rose Hughes. Jackpot for our penultimate draw of 2023 on Sunday, December 10 is €1,200. Thanks to everyone for their continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club and is funding our ongoing development works. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday.

Juvenile AGM: Our Juvenile AGM took place on November 27 in the clubhouse. Juvenile Chairperson Dick Clerkin welcomed everyone and reflected that while it hadn't been a vintage year in terms of silverware, there had been plenty of green shoots, including seeing several Harps players selected for county teams. Colin McAree, Lorrayne Bradley and Rory McDonnell reported on the progress of the various Saturday-morning coaching groups, before team reports were also presented on behalf of our U-11s (Dick Clerkin); U-13s (Kieran O'Reilly); U-15s (Colm Shalvey); and U-17s (Paddy Kelly). We also noted the return to even-numbered age groups (U-18, 16, 14 & 12) for the 2024 juvenile club season, which was recently passed at a County Committee meeting. Thanks to all who attended and everyone involved throughout the year.

Movember: A big crowd joined us in the clubhouse last Saturday for the big finish to our Movember fundraiser on behalf of Crocus Cancer Support, Over 20 club members had their beards and moustaches shaved, while some brave souls volunteered to have their legs waxed, with Dylan McAree going the whole hog by having his chest waxed. Thanks to Marie McQuaid and the staff of Mo's Hairdressing for their expertise on the night! Well done to Peter Coyle, Úna Forde, Sharon McCaffrey, MC Owen Connell, DJ Ado Connell and everyone who took part or who contributed in any way to our fundraising tally of over €5,000. GRMA also to Martin Maguire and everyone at the local Crocus Men's Den, who once again joined forces with Monaghan GAA this year to raise funds, as well as awareness of Men's Health. Please ensure that all donations are returned ASAP. Míle buíochas.

Culture night: After a very successful year in Scór competitions for our adult and juvenile competitors, our Cultural committee hosted a culture night last Friday to showcase our singing, dancing, musical and novelty acts. This was a great night's entertainment, featuring all of our Scór participants, as well as our special guest the O'Donnells and the Oriel Singers. GRMA to Niamh Coyle, Tara and Rossa Gilsenan, Anne Smyth and the Reilly family for making this night happen. Special thanks to IGWT Poultry Services for their kind donation towards the raffle and to Carol McGeough for the two beautiful hampers. Donations to MS Ireland Monaghan Branch from our culture night will be presented this week; thanks to everyone who contributed.

Juveniles: Our winter indoor programme for the nursery age-groups finished last Saturday with a visit from Santa and presents and certificates for all the kids. Special thanks to all our coaches for their hard work and commitment and to St. Macartan's College for the much-appreciated use of their facilities.

Congratulations: To Gary White and Eileen on the birth of their daughter Aoibhinn.

Schools: We wish good luck to all our young players currently representing the club in schools' and third-level competitions.

Clothing drive: Our Hurling Club's annual clothing drive is planned again for January 13 and 20, 2024. If you have any unwanted clothes, please keep them until January and bring them to the clubhouse.

Club app: As well as offering an option to support our lotto, our new club app also has a function to pay your annual membership, make financial donations to the club, as well as a communication suite for all that goes on at the club. You can get involved by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.
