Thanks to everyone for their continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday.

AGM: We held a well-attended AGM in the clubhouse last Wednesday, November 30. Club Chairman Jimmy Croarkin and Secretary Nicola Shalvey gave comprehensive reports on the year, thanking the many people who have kept the club progressing in all sectors. Rose Donnelly presented the financial report, while other reports included hurling (Adrian Dalton); handball (Eugene McGinnity); ladies' football (Ronan Murphy); development (Peter Coyle); health and wellbeing (Úna Forde); culture (Jackie Reilly); coaching (Pádraig Callan); and juveniles (Seán McKenna). We paid our respects on the night to the club members and family members who have passed away in the last 12 months, including the much-loved Hugh Coyle and our former Assistant Treasurer Charlie Shalvey.

The following committee was elected for 2023: Chairperson: Peter Coyle: Vice-Chair: Mary White; Youth Officer: Pádraig Callan; Coaching Officer: Paddy Kelly; Healthy Club Officer: Úna Forde: PRO: Colm Shalvey; Registrar: Kevin Treanor; County Board Delegate: Jimmy Croarkin. Some roles, such as Secretary, Treasurer and Children's Officer, have been held over to our next meeting. Sincere thanks must go to our club officers for their efforts this year.

We are especially grateful to outgoing Chairman Jimmy Croarkin, Secretary Nicola Shalvey and Treasurer Rose Donnelly for their service to the club through good days and through challenging times. They leave the Harps in a healthy position, with major development currently taking place, and we are sure that they won't be lost to our club. We wish Peter and the incoming committee all the best in the next 12 months and beyond.

Christmas party: We are hosting a Christmas party this Sunday evening from 7pm and inviting our neighbours from Rooskey Vale over to our clubhouse. We would be very grateful if club members would please support this either by making some sandwiches or buns and/or joining us on the night. The bar will be open and our very talented members will be providing music/singing, so it promises to be a good night for our club. Bígí linn!

Movember: Thanks to everyone for their generous donations to the worthy cause of Crocus Men's Den as part of Monaghan GAA's Movember Club Championship. Well done to our Movember volunteers (Seán McKenna, Val Forde, Peter Coyle, Brian Clerkin, Adrian Dalton, Mark McManus, Luke Mulligan, Oisín Fagan and Colm Shalvey) for taking part and to our co-ordinator Úna Forde for all her help.

County: Well done to Daragh Croarkin and Tiarnán O'Rourke on being selected on the Monaghan U-20 football panel for 2023. Good luck to our other club players taking part in trials on Saturday week, December 17.

Schools: While the 2022 club season has wrapped up at all levels, we wish good luck to all our young players currently representing the club in schools' and third-level competitions.

Clubhouse: We are looking to recruit new bar staff for the clubhouse (must be over 18, preferably with experience). If interested, please contact Damien Morgan (086 8614730) or Úna Forde (087 6107329).

Pitch development: Our development continues to move along steadily. Many thanks to everyone who contributes to our lotto on a weekly basis, which has made this possible. To develop our pitches, access and look at floodlit facilities for the future, please help our club's growth financially through buying the lotto each week on the ClubZap app or from our many sellers.

Club app: As well as offering an option to support our lotto, our new club app also has a function to pay your annual membership, make financial donations to the club, as well as a communication suite for all that goes on at the club. You can get involved by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.
