Ógie Ó Dufaigh anniversary: Last Friday night was a busy one, equal parts emotional and uplifting, as we gathered to remember Ógie Ó Dufaigh one year on. Thank you to everyone who helped to make it a special night. GRMA to Bean an Tí Gráinne McElwain, who put everyone at ease, to all speakers (Brendan Ó Dufaigh, Séamus McEnaney, Andy Callan, David McCague and our own Mel McMorrow and Paddy Kelly) for speaking from the heart about Ógie. To Dublin star Con O'Callaghan for travelling from Dublin to launch Brendan's book, Ómós d'Ógie, and for his warm words of encouragement. To the musicians who played on the night. To the club members who helped prepare the clubhouse and patio and get everything ready, especially Louis Clerkin for the hours spent power-washing. To everyone involved in naming Slí Ógie Uí Dhufaighwhich will now lead us into and out from Gavan Duffy Park – and creating the plaque on the front of our clubhouse, which was unveiled by Aodhán Óg McAnespie and Lochlainn Power.

The huge turnout was uplifting and is a continued great source of comfort to the Ó Dufaigh family, his team-mates and our club. Ógie is never far from our thoughts and Friday was a credit to his family once again. We keep them in our prayers. Ógie go deo.

Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 2, 14, 18 and 21. Jackpot of €2,500 not won. The four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: Rose Donnelly c/o herself; Dessie McConnon c/o Eileen Morgan; Patrick Corrigan c/o Eileen Morgan; and Rose Hughes c/o herself. Jackpot for Sunday, July 26 is €2,600. Thanks to everyone for their continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday.

U-19: Congratulations to our U-19s, who won the Division Two League after a thrilling battle with Scotstown in Emyvale on Tuesday night. Early goals by Luke McManus and Daragh Croarkin saw the Harps build up a healthy lead, but Scotstown worked their way back into it towards the end of the first half and by the interval, the gap was down to just two: 2-6 to 1-7. Daragh, Luke, Shea Swift and Fionán Ó Gallchóir kept the scoreboard ticking over during the second half, only for Scotstown to rally again late on to level it up deep into added time. Fionán kicked the first point of extra-time, before Liam Conway teed up Daragh to palm to the net and make it 3-13 to 1-17 going into the last ten minutes. Scotstown continued to apply pressure, but our defence stood firm, while Senan Cudden and Jake McConnon got forward to kick crucial scores and secure the win on a scoreline of 3-15 to 1-19.

Our backs worked hard throughout to tighten things up from the goal-fest in Castleblayney the previous week, while Jason Allister made a couple of vital saves. Kevin Moran and Liam ran themselves to a standstill at midfield, while Daragh, Luke and Shea were constant threats up front, with all subs used adding energy to what was a gutsy performance on the night.

Team and scorers: Jason Allister; Shane Moran, Nathan Lavery, Gregory O'Connell; Gary Devlin, Jake McConnon (0-1), Jordan Crampton; Kevin Moran, Liam Conway; Shea Swift (0-3), Michael McMorrow, Mark McManus; Luke McManus (1-4, 0-1f), Daragh Croarkin (Capt., 2-4, 0-4f), Jamie Coyle.

Subs used: Fionán Ó Gallchóir (0-2); Senan Cudden (0-1); Ethan McCaffrey; Jack Lynch; Cian Bradley; Eoin O'Hanlon.

Panel: Tiarnán O'Rourke; Ali Galligan; Shay Cooney; Max Mallen; James Curley; Jake Power; Max Aughey; Karol Parsyzkwa.

Management: James Corrigan; Adrian Gunn.

Seniors: We travelled to Cremartin for last Sunday's Intermediate Football League quarter-final, which was played in sweltering heat. Scores by Neil McAdam, Dylan McKenna and Dylan McKenna kept us in touch in a tight opening to the game, before Luke McManus raced clear to score the first of five goals to leave us 1-6 to 0-6 up at half-time. The game opened up in the second half, but despite hitting the net through a brilliant catch and shot by Gary White and an opportunistic finish by Éimhín Morahan, we were unable to keep the scoreboard ticking over enough. Points by Nicholas Scott and Gary White kept us chasing late on, but Cremartin claimed the league semi-final place on a scoreline of 2-15 to 3-8.

Team and scorers: Daragh Croarkin; Jake McConnon, Aodhán Óg McAnespie (Capt.), Liam Conway; Gary Devlin, Kevin Loughran, Nathan Lavery; Dylan McKenna (0-1), Lochlainn Power; Oisín Fagan, Éimhín Morahan (1-1, 0-1f), Dean Doherty; Luke McManus (1-1), Neil McAdam (0-2f), Gary White (1-2, 0-1f).

Subs: Kevin Moran for Lavery; Nicholas Scott (0-1) for Doherty; Shea Swift for Power; Michael Galligan for Fagan.

Minor: We were away to Donaghmoyne in the U-17 FL Division 3B last Wednesday, where a good team performance earned us the two points on offer. We had nine scorers on the night, with Dara Mullin leading the way and Ali Galligan and Rohann McKenna also finding the net. Jack Kierans, Ethan McCaffrey and Kyle Cooney gave hard-working displays in the middle third, while Max Mallen, Julian Coyle and James Gunn were also on the scoresheet and a superb double save by Oisín McGeown was another highlight of a well-earned win. Carrickmacross conceded the game due to have been played last Sunday. That means we are set to host Donaghmoyne in the semi-finals this Sunday. Please check online to confirm throw-in time.

Team and scorers: Oisín McGeown; Max Aughey, Max Mallen (Capt., 0-1); Dónal Moran, Kyle Cooney (0-2, 1f), Fergal Magee; Jack Kierans (0-1), Ethan McCaffrey (0-2); Julian Coyle (0-1), Dara Mullin (2-5, 0-1f), Rohann McKenna-Malocca (1-2); James Gunn (0-2), Ali Galligan (1-2, 0-1f).

We host St. Patrick's in an important Division One league game next Tuesday evening. All support would be appreciated for both of our minor teams.

U-15: Our U-15 teams had a very busy schedule last week, starting with a Division One game away to Castleblayney on Thursday. A slow start to this game left our lads playing catch-up, although John Paul Ginley flicked to the net to narrow the gap late in the first half. The Harps lads had a purple patch either side of the interval, with further goals by Shea Corrigan and Mark Lynch pushing us ahead, but Blayney responded with a glut of scores midway through the second half. Our lads kept plugging away, with Eoin Sheridan and Josh Cassidy on target, but Blayney had done enough to secure a vital win.

Team and scorers: Oisín Brannigan; John Sherry, Kyle Lavery, Conor Farmer; Shay Lambe, Orrin Doherty, Daniel Alexis; Josh Cassidy (0-2), Shea Corrigan (1-1, 0-1f); Adam Richardson, Mark Lynch (1-1, 0-1f), Joe Gunn; Eoin Sheridan (0-2, 1f); Shane McGarry, John Paul Ginley (1-1).

Subs used: Deagan Doherty; Winston Onkeweke.

The race to qualify for the Division One Cup Final went down to the wire in Clontibret on Sunday morning. Scores were hard earned at both ends, with a John Paul Ginley goal and points from Mark Lynch, Eoin Sheridan, Deagan Doherty and Alex Flynn keeping our lads in touch. Eoin coolly converted a penalty late on to level it up at 2-6 apiece, but the draw wasn't enough for the Harps to squeeze into the final. The lads will attempt to build on this performance in the championship.

Team and scorers: Oisín Brannigan; John Sherry, Shay Lambe, Conor Farmer; Daniel Alexis, Orrin Doherty, Joe Gunn; Mark Lynch (0-1), Kyle Lavery; Adam Richardson, Josh Cassidy, Eoin Sheridan (1-2, 1-0 pen); Shane McGarry, John Paul Ginley (1-1, 1-0f), Deagan Doherty (0-1).

Subs used: Winston Onkeweke; Daniel Aughey; Alex Flynn (0-1).

In between those games, our Division 5B team had a good win at home to Corduff on Friday. A special mention must go to Winston Onkeweke on a great all-round display and some fine scores that led the way to this win.

Team and scorers: Adam Richardson; Daithí Devlin, Daniel Aughey; Deagan Doherty, Ruairí Smyth (0-1); Alex Flynn (Capt., 1-2), Conor Farmer; Joseph O'Neill, Luke Swift; Winston Onkeweke (5-6), Jake Cassidy.

Subs used: Joe Gunn; Kyle Lavery (0-1); Roberts Uskaus; John Paul Ginley; Daniel Alexis.

U-13: After the end of the leagues, our U-13 teams look forward to the championships.

U-11: Our U-11s began the Liam Stirrat Development League away to Corduff last Saturday.

Good luck: To all our juvenile members competing in the Ulster Fleadh this weekend in Dromore, Co Tyrone and to the adults who are busy preparing for Scór Sinsir. Ádh mór oraibh uilig!

Pitch development: We are very happy that the work has begun, but in order to secure funding to complete additional works at Rooskey, we need people to subscribe to the monthly option for our lotto. This can be done by going into ClubZap, selecting club shop, play lotto online and finally selecting the €20 per month option. This will be a huge support to securing additional funding from Croke Park. I am aware that we all purchase weekly and at games etc., but it is the regular subscriptions that are needed as evidence of regular money coming into the club. Thanks in advance, Rose Donnelly 0860825782.

Club app: As well as offering an option to support our lotto, our new club app also has a function to pay your annual membership, make financial donations to the club, as well as a communication suite for all that goes on at the club. You can get involved by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.
