Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday.

Harps Sumer Camp: Our own in-house Sumer Camp will not take place this year due to ground development. We look forward to bringing this initiative back next year.

DIL: The Darkness Into Light cheque presentation and Memory Tree planting took place on our grounds on Monday night. This year's event raised €23,400. Well done again to everyone involved.

Seniors: Our next game is our Intermediate Football Championship opener at home to Blackhill on Saturday, August 13.

Minor: Our U-17s had a busy schedule last week, starting with Sunday's Division 3B semi-final at home to Donaghmoyne. A strong team performance got us through this one, with a good spread of scorers, which saw Jack Kierans, Dara Mullin, Julian Coyle, John McCrystal, Rohann McKenna and Ethan McCaffrey all hit the target during the first half. Dónal Moran, Ali Galligan and James Gunn added their names to the scoresheet after the restart, while Kyle Murray came on to kick a fine point as we progressed to the final against Scotstown.

Team and scorers: Oisín McGeown; Diarmuid McGinnity, Max Mallen (Capt.); Dónal Moran (1-0), Kyle Cooney, Fergal Magee; Jack Kierans (0-1f), Dara Mullin (0-1); Julian Coyle (0-4), John McCrystal (1-2), Rohann McKenna-Malocca (0-1); Ethan McCaffrey (2-2), Ali Galligan (1-2).

Subs used: James Gunn (1-2, 0-1f); Kyle Murray (0-1f).

Our Division One team then hosted St. Pat's on Tuesday, knowing we needed a win to qualify for the semi-finals of the Cup. The momentum ebbed and flowed throughout this game, with a John McCrystal goal and points by John, Fionán Ó Gallchóir and Eoin O'Hanlon keeping us within two points at half-time: 1-7 to 1-9. Our lads kicked some excellent scores in the second half, particularly some well-worked points by Fionán and Cian Bradley, while an inventive goal by Kyle Cooney moved us ahead with ten minutes left, but St. Pat's rallied in an exciting finish and they edged us in the end by the minimum margin: 1-17 to 2-13.

Team and scorers: Oisín Reilly; Ali Galligan, Shane Moran, Max Mallen; Max Aughey, Ethan McCaffrey, Mark Clerkin; Senan Cudden (Capt.), Jack Lynch; Dara Mullin, Eoin O'Hanlon (0-2, 1f), Dónal Moran; Fionán Ó Gallchóir (0-7, 1f, 1m), Cian Bradley (0-1), John McCrystal (1-3).

Subs used: Kyle Cooney (1-0); Seán Callan; Jack Kierans.

U-15: Our U-15 Division One team are preparing for Championship action next month, while the Division 5B lads await a league final against either Corduff or Truagh.

U-13: After the end of the leagues, our U-13 teams look forward to the championships.

U-11: Our U-11s reached the final of the Plate competition in the John Treanor Memorial Tournament in Truagh, where they were just pipped at the finish by Cookstown. Well done to the players and coaches for their efforts on the day. The Liam Stirrat Development League continues with a double-header at home to Magheracloone this Saturday.

Well done: To all our juvenile members who competing in the Ulster Fleadh last weekend. Good luck to the adults who are busy preparing for Scór Sinsir.

Pitch development: We are very happy that the work has begun, but in order to secure funding to complete additional works at Rooskey, we need people to subscribe to the monthly option for our lotto. This can be done by going into ClubZap, selecting club shop, play lotto online and finally selecting the €20 per month option. This will be a huge support to securing additional funding from Croke Park. I am aware that we all purchase weekly and at games etc., but it is the regular subscriptions that are needed as evidence of regular money coming into the club. Thanks in advance, Rose Donnelly 0860825782.

Club app: As well as offering an option to support our lotto, our new club app also has a function to pay your annual membership, make financial donations to the club, as well as a communication suite for all that goes on at the club. You can get involved by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.
