U-14: Well done to our U-14 Division 5A and Division 5B teams, who had good wins over Corduff and Aughnamullen last week. Our Division One opener was postponed due to a bereavement in the Donaghmoyne club.
U-12: The U-12 Spring League games scheduled for this weekend have been postponed.
St. Patrick's Day: Míle buíochas to everyone who contributed to our St. Patrick's Day celebrations. The weather wasn't kind as our juveniles took part in the parade through town, but there were smiles and singing all round, before the ceol agus craic began in the clubhouse. Well done again to all the musicians! Thanks to everyone who helped out with the stewarding the kids in the parade and those who helped in the clubhouse afterwards; we really appreciate all those who volunteer on these occasions.
Benefit night: A benefit night is being held in the Four Seasons Hotel this Saturday, March 23, to raise funds to support Monaghan Town man Seamus Soraghan. All funds will go towards assisting his mobility needs. Seamus, or Jazz as many know him, has always been a great supporter of the club. We have no doubt this event will be well supported by the Monaghan Harps community.
Spring Clean: We are organising a Spring Clean of the Gavan Duffy grounds for this Saturday, March 23, from 11am until 1pm. We are looking for our parents and kids to come together to help with a general clean-up of the car park, patio, stand and grass areas of the pitch surrounds.
Juvenile coaching: We are delighted to announce the return of our Saturday-morning football coaching for our youngest juveniles for 2024! Training starts back on Saturday, April 6, at 10am in Gavan Duffy. To register a new or existing player, please log on to the Foireann app or www.foireann.ie. We look forward to welcoming all the boys and girls back and hope to see plenty of new faces!
League start dates: The Intermediate Football League is due to start on Sunday, April 14. The Reserve Football League Division 3A is scheduled to get underway on the same weekend. The proposed start dates for juvenile/minor leagues are as follows: U-18: April 2; U-16: April 4.
After-school programme: We are approaching the end of our five-week after-school Gaelic Football coaching programme at St. Mary's Boys' National School, in partnership with Monaghan GAA. Thanks to everyone involved in getting this initiative up and running, including our own coaching committee and Monaghan GAA Coaching and Games.
County: Good luck to all the county teams in action this week, especially to our Harps representatives.
Scór: Ádh Mór to our club representatives in the upcoming county Scór competitions. Well done to everyone who represented us in Tráth na gCeist last week.
