Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 13, 22, 27 and 29. Jackpot of €2,200 won by Linda Stephens (Dublin) c/o Barry Sullivan! Congratulations to Linda! Jackpot for Sunday, April 3 is €1,000. Thanks to everyone for their continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club. Upcoming club events: The countdown is on for our championship preview night in the Hillgrove Hotel on Saturday week, April 9, where we look forward to welcoming some high-profile guests. The likes of Seán Boylan, Seán Cavanagh, Aaron Kernan, Dick Clerkin, Owen Lennon, Malachy O'Rourke and David Brady will be looking ahead to the inter-county championship season along with our own Shane Hannon in what promises to be a great night. Meeting: The club's monthly meeting takes place in the clubhouse tonight (Thursday) at 8pm.

 

Reserves: We had a good win at home to Donaghmoyne in the RFL Division 1A last Saturday. After an even start to the game, where Daragh Croarkin, Conor McCrystal, Dean Doherty, Luke McManus and Evan Doherty were all on target, quick-fire goals by Conor and Luke pushed us ahead by 2-9 to 0-8 at half-time. Conor and Luke repeated the trick by hitting the net once each within a minute midway through the second half to help us secure a 4-14 to 0-11 win.

Our reserves have a busy weekend, with home games against Latton in Division 1A on Saturday at 6.30pm and Killeevan in Division Three on Sunday at 2pm. All support welcome.

 

Saturday-morning coaching: Our U-9, U-7 and nursery groups will be starting back training this Saturday, April 2, at 10am. We encourage you all to register online via Foireann.ie to help cut down on the queue on Saturday morning. We will be open for sign-in at 9.30am. If anyone would like to get involved in coaching or helping out, please let Úna Forde know. We look forward to welcoming everyone back!

 

Happy birthday: Best wishes and many happy returns to our club chairman Jimmy Croarkin, who celebrated a big birthday last weekend!

 

Scór: Good luck to our representatives in the Ulster Scór na nÓg finals in Silverbridge this Saturday. Ádh mór to Dearbhla Ní Mhearáin (solo singing); Oisín Ó Raghallaigh, Fionán Ó Gallchóir and Mark Ó Cleirchín (music group); and Aoibhinn Ní Chraoibhinn, Hannah Nic Uaid, Amy Nic Domhnaill, Caoimhe Ní Néill and Dearbhla Ní Mhearáin (singing group).

 

Minor: We are entering two teams into the U-17 Spring Leagues. We start Group A with an away game against Clones this Sunday at 12 noon and Group F with another away fixture in Donaghmoyne on Tuesday at 7pm.

 

U-15: Our U-15 Division 5B team start their league with a home game against Donaghmoyne next Wednesday at 7pm.

 

U-13: Our U-13 team started their Spring League campaigns last night (Wednesday). All three teams are back in action this Saturday in a double-header at home to Scotstown (11.30am & 12.45pm) and an away game against Magheracloone (3.30pm).

 

RIP: We send sincere sympathy to the Conlon and McRory families on the death of Phelim McRory; the Lynch family on the death of Gabriel Lynch; and the Flynn family on the death of Colm Flynn. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha.

Registration: Registration fees for 2022 can now be paid via Foireann.ie (use your log-in details from last year's return-to-play questionnaires). When you open the app, select 'my club' and 'membership' to pay your membership in seconds. Fees are as follows: juveniles €30; senior citizens €30; adults and all adult players €50; family membership (two adults and up to three juvenile players) €90. You can also renew your membership by contacting club registrar Kevin Treanor or treasurer Rose Donnelly. Please note that all juvenile and adult players must be paid-up members.

 

Club app: As well as offering an option to support our lotto, our new club app also has a function to pay your annual membership, make financial donations to the club, as well as a communication suite for all that goes on at the club. You can get involved by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.
