Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 1, 22, 23 and 24. Jackpot of €2,300 not won. This week's four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: Nicholas & Janice Treanor c/o Ann Treanor; Seán McCabe c/o ClubZap; Aideen McEneaney c/o Paudge Connolly; and Conn O'Hanlon (direct debit). The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Paudge Connolly. Jackpot for Sunday, March 10 is €2,400. Volunteer Award: Congratulations to our own Healthy Club Officer Úna Forde, who received her well-deserved Volunteers in Sports Award from the Federation of Irish Sport and the National Network of Local Sports Partnerships at a national ceremony in Dublin last Thursday. We as a club are very fortunate to call Úna one of our own and this was a great personal honour for her, as well as fantastic representation for Monaghan Harps.
St. Patrick's Day: We are looking for some volunteers to assist with stewarding at the St. Patrick's Day parade in town.
Church-gate collection: Our church-gate collection takes place this weekend. Please let Rose Donnelly know if you are available to help out. Your support is very much appreciated.
Arch Club: We are hosting Monaghan Arch Club next Thursday (March 14, 8pm to 10pm). All help from club members would be greatly appreciated. Thanks as always.
League start dates: The Intermediate Football League is due to start on Sunday, April 14. The Reserve Football Leagues are scheduled to get underway on St. Patrick's weekend. The proposed start dates for juvenile/minor leagues are as follows: U-18: April 2; U-16: March 28 & U-14: March 16.
Coach induction evening: We hosted a coach induction evening in the clubhouse last Friday. Thanks to everyone who attended and to our coaching committee and Coaching Officer Dick Clerkin for organising.
Benefit night: A benefit night is being held in the Four Seasons Hotel on Saturday, March 23 to raise funds to support Monaghan Town man Seamus Soraghan. All funds will go towards assisting his mobility needs. Seamus, or Jazz as many know him, has always been a great supporter of the club. We have no doubt this event will be well supported by the Monaghan Harps community.
After-school programme: We have passed the halfway point of our five-week After-school Gaelic Football coaching programme at St. Mary's Boys' National School, in partnership with Monaghan GAA. Thanks to everyone involved in getting this initiative up and running, including our own coaching committee and Monaghan GAA Coaching and Games.
County: Good luck to Mark Lynch, Shea Corrigan, Josh Cassidy and the Monaghan minor footballers as they begin their Ulster MFL campaign and to the county hurling teams in action this weekend.
