Seniors: We concluded our Greenfield Foods Senior Football Championship campaign with a floodlit game against Castleblayney in Emyvale last Friday night. On what would have been Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh's 20th birthday, we fielded a youthful team featuring seven U-20s, including a senior debut for Liam Conway. Points by Dylan McKenna, Kevin Loughran, Nathan Lavery and Neil McAdam kept us in touch for most of the first half, but Blayney hit the net just before the break to pull away. We had a series of attempts at goal in the second half, but our lads only had a late point from Éimhín Morahan to show for their efforts as Blayney closed out a win that saw them finish top of the group.

Team and scorers: Daragh Croarkin; David Lowry, Conn O'Hanlon, Kevin Loughran (0-1); Nathan Lavery (0-1), Conor Galligan, Liam Conway; Oisín Fagan; Aodhán Óg McAnespie (Capt.), Dylan McKenna (0-1); Tiarnán O'Rourke, Neil McAdam (0-2f), Dean Doherty; Shane Smyth, Lochlainn Power.

Subs: Nicholas Scott for Fagan; Éimhín Morahan (0-1) for Power; Michael Galligan for Smyth (inj.); Shane McMahon for McKenna, Thomas Croarkin for Conway.

This brought the curtain down on what has been a challenging season on and off the pitch. Thanks to Paddy Kelly, Ryan Mellon, Steven Creighan, the players and backroom team for their commitment throughout the year and to everyone who supported. GRMA to the Ó Dufaigh family, whose support has meant a lot to our senior team through the last few months.
