Seniors: We fell short away to Carrickmacross in the Greenfield Foods Senior Football Championship last Sunday. We started brightly, with Shane Smyth and Michael Galligan on target, but as conditions worsened, the game became scrappy, with every score hard earned. Points from Michael, Nicholas Scott and Neil McAdam gave us a narrow lead midway through the second half, but things turned against us after the water break, with Carrick finding the net twice, one from a penalty. Conor Callan converted a penalty at the other end to give us hope, but Carrick hit on the counter for a third goal late on to make the final score 3-9 to 1-9.

Team and scorers: Conor Callan (1-0, pen); David Lowry, Conn O'Hanlon, Kevin Loughran; Aodhán Óg McAnespie (Capt.), Conor Galligan, Nicholas Scott (0-1); Neil McAdam (0-1), Dylan McKenna; Dean Doherty, Dónal Hahessy, Thomas Croarkin; Michael Galligan (0-6, 4f), Shane Smyth (0-1), Liam Hahessy.

Subs: Conor McCrystal for D Hahessy (inj., 9 mins); Lochlainn Power for Doherty (45); Éimhín Morahan for Smyth (50); Dean Fanning for L Hahessy (52).

We host Magheracloone in a crucial game this Saturday at 4pm. Please come along to support our senior team in our last home game of the year.

U-15: Well done to our U-15 Division 5A team, who won their Shield Final against Carrickmacross in Ballybay last Saturday. Our lads had ten players on the scoresheet as they saw the U-15 season out with a good win. Shea Corrigan, James Gunn, Orrin Doherty Oisín Brannigan, Eoin Sheridan, Jack Kierans, Shane McGarry and John Sherry were all on target during the first half as the Harps built up a strong lead. Eoin added a string of scores at the start of the second half, while Julian Coyle and John Paul Ginley came on to contribute 1-3 to a strong team performance, which saw team captain Dáire McKenna lift the silverware. Well done to all the players and management involved.
