Minors: Our U-17s are away to Scotstown in the Minor Football Championship semi-finals this Saturday. Please support!

Gavan Duffy Park: We host the Monaghan LGFA U-14 Division Two Final this Saturday at 11.30am. All help appreciated.

U-15: Our U-15 Division One team fell short in last Saturday's Shield semi-final away to Truagh. An even start saw Dónal Moran, Shea Corrigan and John McCrystal kick points, but although Ethan McCaffrey hit the net to move us ahead, Truagh rallied to level it up at 1-7 apiece at half-time. The damage was done during the third quarter, as Truagh pulled away with a brace of goals. Our lads battled back with scores from John McCrystal and Mark and Jack Lynch, but Truagh stayed ahead to progress to the final on a scoreline of 4-13 to 2-10.

Panel and scorers: Oisín McGeown, John Sherry, Mark Lynch (1-0), Rhys McCaffrey, Shea Corrigan (0-1), Ethan McCaffrey (1-0), Orrin Doherty, Diarmuid McGinnity, Jack Lynch (0-2), Eoin Sheridan (0-2), Kyle Cooney, Dónal Moran (0-2), Daniel Alexis, John McCrystal (0-3, 1f), Dara Mullin, Jack Kierans, Julian Coyle, Dáire McKenna, James Gunn, Shane McGarry, Oisín Brannigan, Fergal Magee, John Paul Ginley, Daniel Aughey, Ryan Grant, Shay Lambe, Daithí Devlin, Rohann McKenna-Malocca, Kyle Murray.

Next up is the Division 5A Shield semi-final v Carrickmacross (details TBC).

U-13: Our U-13 Division Two begin their championship campaign away to Aghabog tonight (Thursday). Good luck to all involved.

Juveniles: Our Saturday-morning coaching for our youngest juveniles drew to a close for 2021 with the return of the fun day and sponsored walk last week. Gavan Duffy Park was a hive of activity on Saturday morning as our youngest players enjoyed the challenges set out by their coaches. Thanks to Daragh, Nathan and Tiarnán for presenting the medals on the morning. Please ensure all sponsorship cards are returned ASAP and write names and ages clearly on the back. Úna will organise collection times for the gloves and footballs when they arrive. Thanks to our coaches and co-ordinators for their efforts this year and to the parents for their help, especially with the health questionnaires and sign-ins. As our season ends up, we would ask if parents of our juveniles could continue to support the club during the winter months via the Harps Lotto, which can be purchased on ClubZap. Your continued support is much appreciated.

U-11: Our U-11s finished their year out with an in-house blitz at Gavan Duffy Park last Saturday morning. Well done to the players who competed in the Liam Stirrat Development League and have worked hard on their skill development all year. Thanks to all the coaches involved for their efforts this year.

U-10: Hard luck to the Monaghan Town U-10 Community Games Gaelic football team on their recent Ulster final defeat and well done again on winning the county competition.

Sympathy: We send sincere sympathy to former player Keith McGonnell and family on the death of his father, Tommy. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Apartment in Lanzarote: Monaghan GAA are running a development draw with a first prize of a Holiday Home in Lanzarote. The club has received some tickets from the county board, costing €75 each, and they can be purchased by contacting Rose Donnelly (086 0825782).

Club app: As well as offering an option to support our lotto, our new club app also has a function to pay your annual membership, make financial donations to the club, as well as a communication suite for all that goes on at the club. You can get involved by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.

Hurling:

Hard luck to our U-13 hurlers, who lost the shield final to Latton on Sunday. Having beaten Latton in the league fixture, our lads were favourites going into the game but failed to capitalise on possession in the first half and take our scores. A spirited performance but sadly not enough. The lads head into the winter with hurling in the schools now a priority as we look to build and develop on hurling in the local area. Thanks to all the players, parents and coaches involved with the team this year. Na Cláirsigh Abú!

Well done to the St. Macartan's U-15s on their win in Tuesday's Shield Final. Our U-15s will represent the club in Croke Park at the end of the month. Thank you again to all involved and see you again next year. Keep hurling in the garden over the winter months and keep the sliotar away from all windows...

We also have a final club shop open for anyone interested. Our new McCormack jerseys will be delivered over the next two-three weeks for all buyers. The new shop is the same as during the summer with gear ordered online and delivered to the club. We will then meet to distribute the gear once it arrives. We are setting it up early to use as a Christmas shop for anyone interested.
