Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 6, 17, 22 and 30. Jackpot of €1,200 not won. The four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were Bernie McKenna c/o self; Damien Morgan c/o Eileen Morgan; Michael McEntee c/o ClubZap; and Maggie Deery c/o Paddy Donnelly. The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Eileen McElvaney. Jackpot for Sunday, September 27 is €1,300. The club is asking members willing and financially able to contribute through our lotto towards club maintenance and running expenses. This can be done by two options: set up a standing order to our club lotto via quarterly or annual payments or using our new club app by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone, registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member and buying club lotto in bulk or on a weekly basis. Anyone interested can contact either Rose Donnelly (086 0825782); Maria McKenna (086 1057725) or Adrian Dalton (087 7859582). Thanks to everyone for their continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club, particularly this year. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday, while physical tickets should be with the lotto committee by 9pm.

Seniors: We secured a return to senior football by winning an exciting McElvaney Recycling Intermediate Football Championship Final against Cremartin in Clones last Saturday. Despite the game being bookended by Cremartin goals, a strong performance for the vast majority of the match saw our lads claim a fourth straight win. We kicked ten points from play in the first half to change ends level at 0-10 to 1-7. We had eight players on the scoresheet by then, namely Nicholas Scott, Stephen Driver, Neil McAdam, Michael and Conor Galligan, Conor McCrystal, Gary White and Éimhín Morahan. It remained tight throughout the third quarter, but with the influential Dónal Hahessy adding his name to the list of scorers after coming off the bench and Neil flicking home our only goal, we finally put some daylight between the teams. There was still more drama as Cremartin found the net again to jangle some nerves, but Gary converted a free deep into added time to seal a deserved 1-16 to 2-10 win. Congratulations to Paddy, Ryan, Steven and backroom team who put in a great effort to support a panel of players who showed great character in a most difficult campaign to win our first IFC title since 2009. While the ongoing restrictions made it impossible to accommodate everyone who would have loved to have been there, it was great to see the joy the win brought to our supporters present at a sun-soaked St. Tiarnach's Park and to all who welcomed the team back into town. Thanks to all the club supporters for observing the guidelines and for all the well wishes from close to home and further afield.

Team and scorers: Dylan McAree; Conn O'Hanlon, Kevin Loughran, Thomas Croarkin; Nicholas Scott (0-1), Aodhán Óg McAnespie (Capt.), Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh; Stephen Driver (0-1), Neil McAdam (1-2); Michael Galligan (0-1), Conor Galligan (0-2), Shane McMahon; Conor McCrystal (0-3), Gary White (0-3, 2f), Éimhín Morahan (0-2, 1f).

Subs: Dónal Hahessy (0-1) for McMahon (41 mins), Dean Doherty for Croarkin (48), Lochlainn Power for M Galligan (52), Shane Smyth for Morahan (57).

Reserves: After a quiet Saturday, we started our RFC McKeown Cup game with a home game against Killeevan early on Sunday. Killeevan built up a good lead early on, but Luke Coyle converted a penalty to halve our deficit to three by half-time and he added a second goal after the restart. Aidan Burns burst forward for a brilliant strike to the top corner of the net, but a couple of late points saw Killeevan secure a narrow win by 1-18 to 3-10. Well done to a (mostly) youthful team for making a good effort in this one.

Team and scorers: Ryan Shields; Conor Devlin, Aidan Burns (1-1), John Lowry; Rory Sleator, Jamie Shields, Nathan O'Donoghue (0-2, 1f); Peter Coyle, Niall Greenan (Capt., 0-3, 2f); Adam McGarry, Terence McDonald, Seán Conway (0-1); Colm Shalvey (0-1), Luke Coyle (2-2, 1-0 pen, 0-2f), Corey McArdle.

Subs used: David Lowry, Brendan McQuaid.

A busy weekend for our reserve teams sees our O'Duffy Cup team travel to Castleblayney on Saturday for a 5pm throw-in, before the McKeown Cup continues with an away game against Clontibret on Sunday at 2pm.

Golf Classic: A big thank you must go to everyone who supported our 2020 Monaghan Harps Golf Classic by entering teams or buying tees; helping to make it an outstanding success last Friday. Thanks to Rossmore Golf Club for having us, especially secretary Kathleen Cadden and pro Seán O'Donnell. Thanks to our organising committee (featuring Kevin Treanor, Fergus Coyle, Dermot Coyle, Rose Donnelly, John Hahessy, Owen Connell and Neill McGinn) for their efforts. Thanks also to Paul Bond and the Monaghan Town Runners for the much-appreciated use of their gazebo. Thanks to all entrants and sponsors, including main sponsor John McCabe Nissan, who came on board through former club player Séamus Morgan. Congratulations to the winning teams and thanks to the Clerkin family for joining the presentations and the photographers who covered it.

U-15: Our U-15 Division One team fell short in a play-off at home to Carrickmacross last Saturday morning. Having been forced into a few changes in positions and personnel, our lads were left facing a big deficit by half-time, but typical of the contests between these teams over the last couple of years, the Harps rallied. With goalkeeper Oisín Reilly and his defenders working hard to keep Carrick out, Cian Bradley kicking some fine points and Seán Callan drilling home a cracking goal, hopes were raised of a late comeback, but a third goal for Carrick ensured they ran out winners on a scoreline of 3-10 to 1-10.

Team and scorers: Oisín Reilly; Max Aughey, Shane Moran, Kyle Cooney; Diarmuid McGinnity, Seán Callan (1-0), Mark Clerkin; Jack Lynch (0-1), Senan Cudden; Ethan McCaffrey, Oisín Treanor (0-1), John McCrystal; Fionán Ó Gallchóir (0-2), Ali Galligan, Cian Bradley (0-6).

This result means our U-15 Division One team face a Shield Final against Clones in Aghabog this Saturday at 2pm. After losing Wednesday's play-off at home to Scotstown, our Division Five team will also play in the Shield in Aghabog this Saturday, with their game against Truagh set to throw in at 4pm.
