Good luck: To our own Neil McAdam with the official opening of Recovery Lab in Monaghan Town this week.

Minors: Our U-17s entered the Minor Football Championship with an epic at home to Clontibret last Sunday. Despite hitting the net early on through Eoin O'Hanlon, we started slowly and were grateful to Oisín Reilly for helping to keep us level at 1-2 to 0-5 by the end of the opening quarter. Luke McManus linked up with Josh Kelly to find the net after the water break, while Seán Callan, Cian Bradley and Fionán Ó Gallchóir were also on target, but we trailed by 2-7 to 2-6 at half-time. We started the second half with another goal from Eoin, but despite points from Shea Swift and Fionán, Clontibret moved further ahead by the three-quarter mark. Seán Callan coolly tucked away a penalty to edge us ahead again late on, but a Clontibret free deep into added time levelled it up at 4-9 to 3-12. The momentum continued to swing during a lengthy bout of extra-time, with 1-1 from Fionán and points by Cian and Luke moving us ahead, only for a brace of goals to regain the lead for Clontibret. Our lads kept at it right to the end and they got their reward with last-gasp points by Luke and Cian winning it for us on a scoreline of 5-14 to 5-13. We now await the draw for the semi-finals.
