Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 5, 18, 23 and 26. Jackpot of €3,900 not won. This week's four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: Katie Hughes c/o Rose Hughes; M Lawless c/o Kevin Treanor; Seán Ó Murchú c/o Jim Dalton (Hurling Club); and Berenice McGuirk c/o ClubZap. The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Jimmy Croarkin. Jackpot for Sunday, September 10 is €4,000. IFC: We host Cremartin in our third game in the Intermediate Football Championship Group Two this Sunday at 5pm. Please support!

 

Club meeting: The club's monthly meeting for September takes place this evening (Thursday) at 8pm in our clubhouse.

 

Clean-up: The Monaghan Harps community invites you to join us for a clean-up of the area around Rooskey this Saturday at 11am. We have a number of trailers lined up to remove unwanted items. Anyone available can contact Peter Coyle on 087 9700858.

 

Ladies: Good luck to our U-14 girls in the Division Two league final tomorrow evening (Friday) v Emyvale in Truagh at 6.30pm.

 

U-17: Our U-17 Division One team fell just short in Saturday's championship opener away to Scotstown. With seven players on the scoresheet, including goals from Orrin Doherty and Ethan McCarron, our lads led by five points midway through the second half, but a blitz of three goals saw Scotstown win on a scoreline of 3-9 to 2-9.

A similar scoreline in Sunday's Division Four clash at home to Castleblayney saw our lads edge through by 2-9 to 2-8 and book a place in another final against either Scotstown or Truagh.

U-15: Our U-15s won at home to Aghabog in the Division Two championship last Thursday evening. We led by 0-10 to 0-6 at the end of a well-contested first half, before goals by Lewis Duffy and Rhys Coyle stretched our lead. A good team performance saw seven players contribute to our tally of 2-19.

U-13: Hard luck to our U-13 Division Five team, who lost out in a keenly-contested championship semi-final away to Magheracloone last Sunday. Thanks to our U-13 players and their coaches for their efforts throughout the season.

DIL: The cheque presentation from this year's Darkness Into Light will take place next Wednesday, September 13, in our clubhouse at 6.30pm. Sinéad from Pieta will attend the presentation.

 

High-vis jackets: We ask club members to please check if they have any of the high-vis jackets with Monaghan Harps on the back and to please return them to the club as they are urgently needed ahead of our next home IFC game. GRMA.

 

Saturday-morning coaching: Our juvenile Gaelic football coaching for 4-9-year-olds continues for a few more Saturday mornings from 10-11am. Thanks to everyone involved.
