Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 13, 20, 21 and 27. Jackpot of €4,100 not won. The four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: Connie Corrigan c/o Eileen Morgan; Mary Macklin c/o Maria McKenna; Luke & Rowan Dalton c/o Jim Dalton (Hurling Club); and Daragh & Kelly Croarkin c/o Sheila Treanor. The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Neill McGinn. Jackpot for Sunday, April 25 is €4,200. The club is asking members willing and financially able to contribute through our lotto towards club maintenance and running expenses. This can be done by two options: set up a standing order to our club lotto via quarterly or annual payments or using our new club app by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone, registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member and buying club lotto in bulk or on a weekly basis. Juvenile Training: With Government guidelines finally easing, juvenile training is set to return in pods of 15 next Monday, April 26, initially on a non-contact basis. We look forward to the return of training for our club teams. In the meantime, our club grounds remain closed. Please note that membership must be paid prior to the return to training. Thanks to everyone involved.
Registration: We will be hosting a drive-through registration day in the car park at Rooskey this Saturday from 12 noon, ahead of the return of juvenile training on Monday. Registration fees for 2021 can also now be paid via ClubZap. When you open the app, select 'my club' and 'membership' to pay your membership in seconds. Fees are as follows: U-11s €20; juveniles/seniors €30; family membership €60. You can also renew your membership by contacting club registrar Kevin Treanor (087 6496994) or treasurer Rose Donnelly (086 0825782). Please note that all juvenile and adult players must be paid-up members. With fundraising remaining limited, your support is greatly appreciated during these times.
National Club Draw: The 2021 National Club Draw will take place in June, with prizes including €2,000 cash and All-Ireland Hurling & Football Final packages. For anyone who has sold a book of tickets, please drop them into the letterbox at our clubhouse and contact Rose Donnelly or return them in the car park at Rooskey this Saturday from 12 noon. As fundraising opportunities remain limited, your support is greatly appreciated.
Referee recruitment: Monaghan GAA recently launched an appeal for new referees. It is proposed that the basic Level 1 course be delivered as follows: two modules online and two in classroom form when circumstances allow. Please contact any committee member if you are interested in getting involved.
Get Ready to Play Programme: The GAA Get Ready to Play Programme is a Coaching and Sport Science programme being delivered via webinars, website programmes, instructional videos and live sessions. This is a holistic programme supporting players and coaches during their return to training post Covid and in the build up to playing games again with an aim to educate coaches and players by providing an evidence-informed programme. This will hopefully result in increased enjoyment, performance, participation and a reduction in the risk of injury. See links on our social media accounts.
