Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 7, 8, 19 and 29. Jackpot of €2,000 not won. The four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: Majella Treanor c/o Monica Connolly; Adrian Dalton (direct debit) c/o himself; Conor McGinn c/o Neill McGinn; and Nicola Shalvey c/o Paddy Donnelly. The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Dermot Coyle. Jackpot for Sunday, August 15 is €2,100. The club is asking members willing and financially able to contribute through our lotto towards club maintenance and running expenses. This can be done by two options: set up a standing order to our club lotto via quarterly or annual payments or using our new club app by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone, registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member and buying club lotto in bulk or on a weekly basis. Anyone interested can contact either Rose Donnelly (086 0825782); Maria McKenna (086 1057725) or Adrian Dalton (087 7859582). Thanks to everyone for their continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday, while physical tickets should be with the lotto committee by 9pm.

SFC: We have been drawn along with Ballybay, Castleblayney, Clontibret and Latton in Group Two of the Greenfield Foods Senior Football Championship, which will be played on a round-robin basis from the last weekend in August.

Sympathy: Cumann Cláirsigh Mhuineacháin CLG would like to express our sincere sympathy to the family of Hughie Kearns, brother of our former President Patsy. Hughie was a former Monaghan Harps player and a member of our 1949 JFC-winning team. We keep Hughie's daughters Julie and Adrienne, his son Gerald and the entire Kearns family in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Our thoughts and sympathies are also with Brendan Hackett and family on the death of his mother, Teresa. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha.

Seniors/reserves: Amid the rising rate of Covid-19 in our area, a number of players from our senior teams were affected by community transmission. Having taken advice, we therefore decided to postpone on-field activity for our adult teams. This meant that our senior and reserve games scheduled for last week were postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.

Minors: Our U-17s fell short away to Carrickmacross on Monday. Despite lining out minus a few regulars, our lads put in a spirited performance, with Seán Callan, Luke McManus and Josh Kelly kicking some good points during the first half. Carrick added a spurt of late scores to pull away by half-time, but our lads kept plugging away, with Cian Bradley, Seán, Luke and Josh kicking scores, before Fionán Ó Gallchóir, Shane Moran and Jake McConnon added their names to the scoresheet, the latter with a cracking goal late on. Carrick stayed ahead, however, to run out winners by 2-19 to 1-14. Our Division One league campaign now goes down to Monday's last group game at home to Scotstown.

Team and scorers: Karol Parsyzkwa; Max Aughey, Jake McConnon (1-0), Mark Clerkin; Jordan Crampton, Gary Devlin (Capt.), Shane Moran (0-1); Seán Callan (0-4, 1f, 1 '45), Luke McManus (0-4, 3f); Cian Bradley (0-1), Senan Cudden, Shea Swift; Fionán Ó Gallchóir (0-1), Ali Galligan, Josh Kelly (0-3, 2f).

Subs used: Jack Garvey; Max Mallen.

U-19: We exited the U-19 FL Division One at the semi-final stage with a defeat at home to Latton last Wednesday. Thanks to the players and coaches for their efforts in this curtailed U-19 campaign.

Team and scorers: Jason Allister; Jordan Crampton, James McKenny, James Curley; Terence McDonald, Liam Conway, Jake McConnon; Kevin Moran, Tiarnán O'Rourke; Mark McManus, Eoghan McGinnity (0-4, 2f), Shea Swift; Adam McGarry, Daragh Croarkin, Jake Power (1-2).

Subs used: Luke McManus; Gary Devlin (1-0); Jamie Coyle; Dylan McClave.

U-15: Our U-15 Division One team are preparing for their league semi-final away to Castleblayney on Tuesday, August 17. Good luck to everyone involved.

U-13: Our U-13 Division Six team are away to Killeevan this Saturday for a 1.15pm throw-in.

U-11: Our U-11s braved the challenging weather conditions for an enjoyable day of Liam Stirrat Development League games at Gavan Duffy Park last Saturday. Our lads performed well against very competitive Scotstown sides and did some great work in the skill focus of 'the roll'. The next games are against Magheracloone on Saturday week.

U-9/U-7: We host another juvenile blitz this Saturday morning at Gavan Duffy Park. All help welcome.

County: Well done to the county minor and U-16 girls on their recent Ulster title wins.

Club app: As well as offering an option to support our lotto, our new club app also has a function to pay your annual membership, make financial donations to the club, as well as a communication suite for all that goes on at the club. You can get involved by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.

Hurling:

Seniors: Our championship campaign began with a win at home versus Inniskeen on a scoreline of 3-13 to 2-13. This win leaves us in a strong position to qualify for the final with one group match left to play. This match v Castleblayney is scheduled for Friday week, August 20.

Juveniles: It was a busy weekend of action in the Táin Óg leagues with a win for our minors against Seán Treacys. Our U-13s fell short to a strong Dúiche Néill/Fintona Pearses side. This match was played on Sunday morning; despite the bad weather, there was great skill on display by both teams, with some good off-the-shoulder striking and point-scoring. Our U-9s travel to face Latton on Sunday morning.
