IFC: We had a bye for the first round of the Intermediate Football Championship. Our our first Group Two game is at home to Doohamlet this Sunday, August 20, at 2pm. Please come out to support the team!

Pitch development: We are delighted to confirm that the total amount raised by our pitch development raffle and summer barbecue is €18,027.09. These funds will go directly towards the ongoing development of our pitches. None of this would have been possible without the support of our sponsors and the incredible generosity from everyone who bought tickets and attended the BBQ. GRMA.

County: Congratulations to Jack Lynch on making the All-Ireland Minor Football Team of the Year! This is great recognition for Jack and also four of his Monaghan team-mates for their form in helping Monaghan reach the All-Ireland Final.

Well done to Kyle Lavery, Josh Cassidy and Conor Farmer on helping the Monaghan U-15s to a good win in Mayo last Sunday. Congrats also to Josh on being selected on the Ulster U-15 Football Academy team to play against Dublin next Wednesday in Armagh.

Ladies: Congratulations to the Harps U-16 girls on winning a thrilling Division Two League Final on Monday evening. Well done to all the players and management involved.

Hurling: Good luck to the Harps U-13 hurlers in Monday's Shield Final. Check online for fixture details.

Summer camp: Our own in-house summer camp is set to return next week (August 21-25). The camp will run from 10am-2pm daily and is suitable for boys and girls aged 6-12 years. If you are interested in registering your child please fill out the form on our social media. Spaces are running out so be quick!

Reserves: Our RFL Division 3B season ended with a loss away to Scotstown last Saturday. A brace of goals from Shay Cooney helped us go in level at half-time: 2-2 to 1-5. We struggled for scores in the second half, however, even though Cian Bradley marked his debut with a point. After a slow start to the season, this team competed well in the league, just falling short of a semi-final place and giving game-time to many players, including 14 debutants. Thanks to Gary Trappe, Michael Buckley and Thomas Keelaghan for their efforts this year.

Team and scorers: Jason Allister; Séadh Deeney, Shane Moran, Niall Treanor; Gregory O'Connell, Conor Devlin, Mark Clerkin; Senan Cudden, Mark McManus; Adam McGarry, Ali Galligan, Colm Shalvey (Capt., 0-4f); John Mulligan; Niall Hahessy, Shay Cooney (2-0).

Subs used: Cian Bradley (0-1); Max Mallen; James Keelaghan; Thomas Keelaghan.

U-17: Hard luck to our U-17 Division Four team who fell short in last Saturday's league final against Scotstown. Goals by Winston Onkeweke and James Gunn, along with a series of great saves by Alex Flynn, had our lads in a healthy position early in the second half, but Scotstown gradually came back into the game during the final quarter. A Josh Cassidy point looked set to force extra-time, only for Scotstown to finally find the net late on to win it on a scoreline of 1-16 to 4-4.

Team and scorers: Alex Flynn; Ryan Grant, Daniel Alexis (Joint-Capt.); Kyle Cooney, Julian Coyle, Adam Richardson; Jack Kierans (Joint-Capt.), Dáire McKenna (0-1); Luke Swift, Shane McGarry, Daithí Devlin; James Gunn (2-1, 0-1f), Winston Onkeweke (2-0).

Subs used: Kyle Lavery; Josh Cassidy (0-2f); Conor Farmer.

Panel: Diarmuid McGinnity; Rohann McKenna-Malocca; Kyle Murray; Daniel Aughey; Jake Cassidy; Ethan McCarron; Fergal Magee; Christian McGlone.

U-15: Our U-15s kick off their Division Two championship group stage with an away game against Emyvale this evening (Thursday) at 7pm.

U-13: Our U-13 Division One team host Scotstown in the last round of their championship group stage this Saturday at 11.30am. The Division Five lads are away to Inniskeen on Sunday morning.

First-Aid training: We have a first-aid training class fixed for next Thursday, August 24, from 7.30 to 9pm in the clubhouse. The training will centre around sports injuries in the form of cuts, bruises, concussion and fractures etc. Club coaches will be given priority but the class is open to all members. Interest is strong so if you wish to book your place can you drop Peter Coyle or Brian Lenahan a message ASAP.

High-vis jackets: We ask club members to please check if they have any of the high-vis jackets with Monaghan Harps on the back and to please return them to the club as they are urgently needed ahead of our home IFC games. GRMA.
