IFL: A strong finish to last Saturday's Intermediate Football League play-off in Scotstown saw us come from behind to defeat Seán McDermotts. Michael Galligan and Michael McMorrow were our only scorers in a first half that ended with us trailing by 1-7 to 0-5. We had the wind at our backs in the second half, but a slow start left us still chasing the game until Luke McManus poked home a goal that sparked a comeback that soon saw Seán Callan hit the net. With Michael Galligan, Dean Doherty and Daragh Croarkin also on target and Luke racing in to score his second goal, we pushed on to claim an important win on a scoreline of 3-12 to 1-11.

Team and scorers: Daragh Croarkin (0-1f); Gary Devlin, Aodhán Óg McAnespie (Capt.), Jake McConnon; Kevin Moran, Lochlainn Power, Nicholas Scott; Dylan McKenna, Tiarnán O'Rourke; Dean Doherty (0-1), Seán Callan (1-0), Michael McMorrow (0-1); Neil McAdam; Luke McManus (2-2), Michael Galligan (0-7, 4f).

Sub used: Conor McCrystal.

We now turn our attention to the IFC, where our first Group Two game is at home to Doohamlet on Sunday, August 20.

Meeting: The club's monthly meeting for August takes place tonight (Thursday) at 9pm.

Summer camp: Our own in-house summer camp is set to return this year from August 21-25. The camp will run from 10am-2pm daily and is suitable for boys and girls aged 6-12 years. If you are interested in registering your child please fill out the form on our social media. Spaces are limited so payment is needed to secure a place. Payment can be made at training on Saturday mornings.

Registration: Thanks to everyone who has renewed their membership for 2023. We ask all playing members and parents of juveniles to check if they have paid their fees for this season.

Reserves: We stayed in contention in the RFL Division 3B with a win away to Inniskeen last Friday. After leading by 0-8 to 0-4 at half-time, a goal at the start of the second half from Terence McDonald set us up for a 1-12 to 0-7 win from a game where we had seven players on the scoresheet. Our last group game is scheduled for Saturday week, August 12, away to Scotstown.

Team and scorers: Jason Allister; Gregory O'Connell, Shane Moran, Niall Treanor; Jordan Crampton, Jason McHugh, Terence McDonald (1-3); Senan Cudden (0-1), Conor Callan (0-1f); Eoin O'Hanlon (0-1), Ali Galligan (0-1), Colm Shalvey (Capt., 0-4, 3f); John Mulligan; Shane Smyth (0-1), Shay Cooney.

Subs used: Thomas Keelaghan; Oisín Reilly; Jack Brogan.

U-17: Well done to our U-17 Division Four team on winning an exciting league semi-final at home to Castleblayney last Friday. The final against Scotstown is currently scheduled for Thursday, August 17.

Hard luck to our Division One team, who fell short by the narrowest of margins away to Killanny on Monday evening. Our minors are back in action this evening (Thursday) at home to Carrickmacross, before hosting Castleblayney next Tuesday.

Team: Alex Flynn; Shay Lambe, Dónal Moran, Diarmuid McGinnity; Dara Mullin, Ethan McCaffrey (Capt.), Kyle Cooney; Shea Corrigan, Jack Kierans; Dáire McKenna, Orrin Doherty, John Sherry; Daniel Alexis, Winston Onkeweke, John McCrystal.

Subs used: Josh Cassidy; Conor Farmer.

U-15: Hard luck to our U-15s, who fell short in the Division Two League Final against Truagh in Threemilehouse last Thursday. A brilliant goal from Conor Farmer and points by Josh Cassidy, Deagan Doherty and Lewis Duffy kept us in touch during a well-contested first half, but Truagh pulled away with a strong start to the second half. Our lads kept plugging away, with Alex Flynn roving forward to kick a couple of points and Deagan rattling the net, but it wasn't enough to catch up. We now look forward to championship, with details as yet unavailable.

Team and scorers: Alex Flynn (0-2); Ruairí Smyth, Conor Farmer (Joint-Capt., 1-0); Odhrán Kelly, Charlie O'Brien, Andrew McKenna; Josh Cassidy (0-5f), Joseph O'Neill; Cayden McDonnell, Joe Gunn (Joint-Capt.), Deagan Doherty (1-2); Rhys Coyle, Lewis Duffy (0-1).

Subs: Jake Cassidy; Seán Lambe; Ethan Grant; James Cunningham; Caolán Conlon; Calum McCaffrey; Gabriel Cunningham.

U-13: Our U-13 Division One team host Magheracloone in the second round of their championship group stage this Saturday at 11.30am. The Division Five lads are away to Aughnamullen on Sunday morning.
