Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 2, 11, 25 and 26. Jackpot of €3,800 not won. This week's four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: Gordon Farrell c/o ClubZap; Sheila Connolly c/o Shopping Centre; Barry McArdle c/o ClubZap; and Jimmy Morgan c/o Eileen Morgan. The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Séamus Treanor. Jackpot for Sunday, September 3 is €3,900. IFC: We had a 0-17 to 0-11 win away to Clones in the Intermediate Football Championship last Saturday. Michael Galligan, Conor McCrystal, Luke McManus, Daragh Croarkin and Aodhán Óg McAnespie were our scorers during an evenly-matched first half that saw the teams go in level at 0-8 apiece. A strong second half performance saw points from Michael, Conor and Seán Callan help us secure our first win of a very competitive Group Two, where our next game is at home to Cremartin on Sunday week, September 10.

County: Congratulations to Padjo Hannon, Joseph O'Neill, Jack McMahon, Oisín Rankin and the team and management of the Monaghan U-15 hurlers who won the Hibernia Cup last Saturday.

 

Summer camp: What an amazing week everyone had at our 2023 Summer Camp. Thank you to all our coaches and volunteers who helped to make the camp such a success. GRMA to the Monaghan GAA senior players (Conor McManus, Rory Beggan and our own Kevin Loughran) who came down to meet the boys and girls on Friday. What a great way to finish off the summer holidays.

 

Ladies: Well done to our senior ladies' team on their JFC win away to Aughnamullen on Saturday. Congrats to the U-14 girls on reaching the Division Two league final with a one-point win over Carrickmacross.

 

U-17: Hard luck to our U-17 Division One team who lost out in the League Shield Final v Carrickmacross in Cremartin on Monday. A John McCrystal goal got our lads off to a strong start, but Carrick went on to lead by 2-6 to 1-3 at half-time. The Harps slowly ate into their deficit during the second half, with John being joined on the scoresheet by Ethan McCaffrey and Eoin Sheridan, but Carrick held on to win on a scoreline of 2-9 to 1-10.

Attention now turns to championship, with a busy weekend featuring a Division One game away to Scotstown on Saturday and a Division Four opener at home to Castleblayney on Sunday. Both games throw in at 12 noon.

 

U-15: Our U-15s host Aghabog in the second round of their Division Two championship group stage this evening (Thursday) at 6.45pm.

 

U-13: Our U-13 Division Five team have an early start this Sunday for their championship semi-final away to Magheracloone at 11am. Good luck to all involved!

 

Scór: The Scór Sinsir County Final stage events will take place on Oíche Chultúir (Friday, September 22) in Tullycorbet Community Centre. Details of the quiz will follow.

 

Sympathy: Cumann Cláirsigh Mhuineacháin wish to express sincere sympathy to the family of the late Dolores McGill, mother of Darren and sister-in-law of Gráinne Connell. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

 

Best wishes: The club sends best wishes to long-time supporter Séamus 'Jazz' Soraghan after his recent operation.

 

High-vis jackets: We ask club members to please check if they have any of the high-vis jackets with Monaghan Harps on the back and to please return them to the club as they are urgently needed ahead of our next home IFC game. GRMA.

 

Saturday-morning coaching: Our juvenile Gaelic football coaching for 4-9-year-olds continues for a few more Saturday mornings from 10-11am. Thanks to everyone involved.

 

Registration: Thanks to everyone who has renewed their membership for 2023. We ask all playing members and parents of juveniles to check if they have paid their fees for this season.
