Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 3, 10, 16 and 30. Jackpot of €2,200 not won. This week's four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: Marian O'Brien c/o Matt McCaughey; Gary McEnaney c/o Séamus Treanor; Marie Finlay c/o Joe Finlay (Hurling Club); and Kevin Treanor c/o Ann Treanor. The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Rose Hughes. Jackpot for our last draw of 2024 on Sunday, December 22 is €2,300. Thanks to everyone for your continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday.

 

Thanks: This week's Lotto is our last draw of 2024. Thanks to everyone for continuing to support our Lotto and to the committee and the regular helpers for their efforts in keeping the show on the road and providing essential funding towards our development work over the last three decades.

 

Club bag-pack: Our fundraising bag-pack is set for Fleming's SuperValu this Sunday, December 22 from 8am to 8pm. Thanks to Brenda and Julie for organising and to all club members who have volunteered their time.

 

Christmas party: We are hosting a Christmas party this Sunday evening from 7pm and inviting our neighbours from Rooskey Vale over to our clubhouse. We would be very grateful if club members would please support this either by making some sandwiches or buns and/or joining us on the night to give them a warm Monaghan Harps welcome. Bígí linn!

 

Junior Disco: Why not get down to the Harps clubhouse on Monday, December 23 (4-6pm), for a Christmas boogie?! €5 entry, €10 per family. There will be a raffle, spot prizes and dancing galore! Don't forget to wear Christmas jumpers! Children of primary-school age are welcome for the last dance before the big day. See our social media to register interest so we have an idea of numbers attending. GRMA.

 

Christmas match: Our festive fun match returns to Gavan Duffy Park on Monday, December 30. Everyone is invited back to the clubhouse after the match for food and drinks. Sandwiches/goodies would be appreciated, as always, from club members. Bígí linn!

Handball: Congratulations to Louise McGinnity on winning the county adult ladies' county handball title last week.

 

Awards: Congratulations to the Harps Hurling and Handball winners of Monaghan GAA's Annual Awards, which were announced at County Convention last week: Young Hurler of the Year James Brady; Senior Handballer Eoghan McGinnity; Ladies' Handballer Louise McGinnity; and Juvenile Handballer Calum Sherry. Well done also to Patrick Hannon, who has been named as the county's Hurling Officer for 2025.
