Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 5, 11, 18 and 27. Jackpot of €4,900 not won. The four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: Tommy Reilly c/o Jimmy Croarkin; Sharon McCaffrey c/o ClubZap; Seán Gallagher c/o Dermot Coyle; and Mickey McEntee c/o ClubZap. The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Séamus Treanor. Jackpot for Sunday, January 15 is €5,000. Thanks to everyone for their continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday.

Charity match: All proceeds from our New Year's Day charity match will go to our local Solas Drop-In Centre, who do essential work around mental health in our area. All donations will be gratefully accepted. Anyone who wants to donate or to return their sponsorship cards can contact Mary White or Owen Connell.

Hugh Coyle: A reminder for all club members that this Saturday, January 14, is Hugh Coyle's first Anniversary Mass at 10am in St. Joseph's. Given what the club meant to Hugh, it would be nice to show his family that Hugh is still in our thoughts.

Ireland Lights Up: Ireland Lights Up has returned to Monaghan Harps GAA Club and will continue each Wednesday through January and February. Just a few points to note: Participation is entirely free of charge and suitable for all the family. Registration starts at 7.15pm in the clubhouse foyer. Every walker needs to register on a weekly basis for insurance purposes. Although our route has lighting, we recommend wearing high-vis clothing and carrying a small torch. We will have plenty of volunteers and a fantastic group of walking leaders present every night to ensure a safe and fun event for everyone. So pop the date in your diary with a family member, friend or neighbour for a healthy and fun start to 2023!!

Club Draw: The GAA's National Club Draw is back for 2023, offering great prizes. All support appreciated.

County: Well done to Kevin Loughran on making his Monaghan senior debut in the Dr. McKenna Cup last Wednesday and best of luck for the rest of the season.

Clothes drive/swap shop: All sections of the Harps are rowing in behind the hurlers' initiative to run a club clothes drive and club swap shop. If you have any old clothes ready for a new year's clear-out, please drop them down to us in Gavan Duffy Park on either of the next two Saturdays (January 14 & 21). If you have old gear that no longer fits (in particular kids' gear) that you want to donate, please bring it down separately and hand it in for members to 'swap'. This could be old football boots not in use but in a fit condition; socks; hoodies; jerseys; or anything that another member might make use of. We will be there from 11-12 each morning or contact Jack Lee (0872835447), Patrick Meehan (0872112629) or Adrian Dalton (0877859582). Thanks in advance for your support.

Schools: We wish good luck to all our young players currently representing the club in schools' and third-level competitions. Hard luck to John McCrystal, Shea Corrigan, Mark Lynch, Dara Mullin, Josh Cassidy and the Sem team on their narrow defeat in Sunday's Rannafast Cup Final. We are due to host the Sem's MacRory Cup quarter-final next Wednesday, January 18. Please check online to confirm fixture.

Coaching: We are currently seeking expressions of interest in coaching our juveniles for 2023, at both competitive and non-competitive age groups. Upskilling and training will be offered to new coaches as required. Please send on any interest you may have to coach/assist next year and with what age-group to our Coaching Officer Paddy Kelly (087 0654103).

Every Step Counts: Our Healthy Club Officer Úna Forde has registered the club for the GAA/Irish Life Every Step Counts challenge, which runs from January 11 until February 15. Clubs who reach the target of walking a combined total of 4,000 km in that time – the equivalent of walking around the coastline of Ireland – will be entered into a draw to win O'Neill's vouchers. To take part, download the My Life app, register your details, tap on the social tab within the app and select your club. Family and friends can join in too.

Sympathy: Cumann Cláirsigh Mhuineacháin CLG would like to express our deepest sympathy to Kevin Treanor and family on the death of Kevin's brother Louis. We keep them in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Pitch development: Our development continues to move along steadily. Many thanks to everyone who contributes to our lotto on a weekly basis, which has made this possible. To develop our pitches, access and look at floodlit facilities for the future, please help our club's growth financially through buying the lotto each week on the ClubZap app or from our many sellers.

Club app: As well as offering an option to support our lotto, our new club app also has a function to pay your annual membership, make financial donations to the club, as well as a communication suite for all that goes on at the club. You can get involved by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.
