Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 5, 10, 13 and 22. Jackpot of €5,000 not won. The four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: F O'Donnell (Donegal) c/o Barry Sullivan; Eileen McElvaney c/o herself; Seán McKenna c/o ClubZap; and Kacey McAree c/o Fiona Sherry. The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Paddy Donnelly. Jackpot for Sunday, January 22 is €5,100. Thanks to everyone for their continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday.

Registration: Our registrar Kevin Treanor has organised a registration afternoon for this Saturday (12.30 to 2pm). It is essential that all players are registered in advance of training commencing. Please avail of this opportunity to register for the year ahead. Míle buíochas.

Charity match: All proceeds from our New Year's Day charity match will go to our local Solas Drop-In Centre, who do essential work around mental health in our area. All donations will be gratefully accepted. Anyone who wants to donate or to return their sponsorship cards can contact Mary White or Owen Connell.

Ireland Lights Up: Ireland Lights Up has returned to Monaghan Harps GAA Club and will continue each Wednesday through January and February. Just a few points to note: Participation is entirely free of charge and suitable for all the family. Registration starts at 7.15pm in the clubhouse foyer. Every walker needs to register on a weekly basis for insurance purposes. Although our route has lighting, we recommend wearing high-vis clothing and carrying a small torch. We will have plenty of volunteers and a fantastic group of walking leaders present every night to ensure a safe and fun event for everyone. So pop the date in your diary with a family member, friend or neighbour for a healthy and fun start to 2023! Monaghan Harps have been chosen by RTÉ to join us for our Ireland Lights Up walk on Thursday, February 2 (time to be confirmed). Save the date and please bring a friend or three … more information to follow

Club Draw: The GAA's National Club Draw is back for 2023, offering great prizes. All support appreciated.

County: Best of luck to Kevin Loughran and the Monaghan senior football team in the upcoming Allianz NFL campaign.

Clothes drive/swap shop: All sections of the Harps are rowing in behind the hurlers' initiative to run a club clothes drive and club swap shop, which concludes this Saturday from 11am-12 noon. If you have any old clothes ready for a new year's clear-out, please drop them down to us in Gavan Duffy Park or contact Jack Lee (0872835447), Patrick Meehan (0872112629) or Adrian Dalton (0877859582). If you have old gear that no longer fits (in particular kids' gear) that you want to donate, please bring it down separately and hand it in for members to 'swap'. This could be old football boots not in use but in a fit condition; socks; hoodies; jerseys; or anything that another member might make use of. Thanks for your support.

Schools: We wish good luck to all our young players currently representing the club in schools' and third-level competitions. The Sem's MacRory Cup quarter-final has been rescheduled for Gavan Duffy Park this Sunday at 1pm.

Every Step Counts: Our Healthy Club Officer Úna Forde has registered the club for the GAA/Irish Life Every Step Counts challenge, which runs until February 15. Clubs who reach the target of walking a combined total of 4,000 km in that time – the equivalent of walking around the coastline of Ireland – will be entered into a draw to win O'Neill's vouchers. To take part, download the My Life app, register your details, tap on the social tab within the app and select your club. Family and friends can join in too.

Sympathy: Cumann Cláirsigh Mhuineacháin CLG would like to express our deepest sympathy to the McGill and Connell family on the death of Bridie McGill. Mother to Gráinne Connell, mother-in-law to Owen and grandmother to Aidan, Yvonne and Eimear. We keep them in our thoughts and prayers. It was nice to see a good turnout of club members at Hugh Coyle's first Anniversary Mass last Saturday. Hugh and his family remain in our thoughts.

Pitch development: Our development continues to move along steadily. Many thanks to everyone who contributes to our lotto on a weekly basis, which has made this possible. To develop our pitches, access and look at floodlit facilities for the future, please help our club's growth financially through buying the lotto each week on the ClubZap app or from our many sellers.

Club app: As well as offering an option to support our lotto, our new club app also has a function to pay your annual membership, make financial donations to the club, as well as a communication suite for all that goes on at the club. You can get involved by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.
