Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 3, 8, 14 and 23. Jackpot of €1,500 not won. This week's four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: Eileen McElvaney c/o herself; Emma Croarkin c/o Sheila Treanor; Lorcan Donnelly c/o Paddy Donnelly; and Patricia McCarville c/o Séamus Treanor. The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Paddy Donnelly. Jackpot for Sunday, March 26 is €1,600. Thanks to everyone for their continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club and is funding our current development works. Ladies' Club table quiz: Monaghan Harps Ladies Club host a fundraising table quiz tonight (Friday, March 24) in our clubhouse. All support greatly appreciated; looking forward to seeing you all there!

 

Safeguarding: We are hosting a Safeguarding 1 workshop in our clubhouse this Saturday, March 25, from 10am to 1pm. Please contact our Children's Officer Eimear McKenna (085 8588648) if you wish to attend.

 

Reserves: We started the Reserve Football League Division 1A with a 2-5 to 1-8 draw at home to Donaghmoyne last Saturday. Goals early in either half by Michael McMorrow and Luke McManus put us within touching distance of a win, but Donaghmoyne rallied to level it up. We have RFL Division 1A and Division 3B games on the first weekend in April.

IFL: The Intermediate Football League is due to start on Saturday, April 15, with a home game against Castleblayney.

 

U-13: The U-13 Spring League starts this Saturday with a double-header away to Magheracloone at 11am and 12.15. Good luck to all involved.

 

Scór: Ádh Mór to Zoe McDonald, Dearbhla Marron, Fionn Marron, Ciara Ó Riordan, Ellie McMahon and Saorlaith McKenna who are representing our club in solo singing, recitation and music group in the Ulster Scór na nÓg semi-final on Saturday at 2pm in Lisnaskea. All support welcome!

 

Seisiún ceoil: CCÉ Baile Mhuineacháin's new monthly session returns to our clubhouse. this Sunday evening, March 26: junior session: 6.30-7.15pm; senior session: 7.30-8.30pm. Fáilte roimh chách! Everyone welcome.

 

Arch Club: We were delighted to host Monaghan Arch Club for a very enjoyable evening last Thursday. This was our first time to host the Arch Club since 2020 and of course a first since the passing of our own Hugh Coyle, who would have been the main man on the night. Thanks to Monaghan Comhaltas and our own members for the great music and to everyone who helped out in any way.

 

St. Patrick's Day: Míle buíochas to everyone who contributed to our St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Our juveniles once again took part in the parade through town, before the ceoil agus craic began in the clubhouse. Well done again to all the musicians!

 

Easter Egg Hunt: We will be joining with Muineachán Le Gaeilge to host an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 2. Please register in advance via our social media.

Registration: Thanks to everyone who has renewed their membership for 2023 so far: your continued support is appreciated. GRMA to our registrar Kevin Treanor for his efforts. DIL: Darkness Into Light returns to Monaghan Town in the early hours of May 6, with registration now open. The 2023 launch for both Cavan and Monaghan will take place in the Kilmore Hotel, Cavan Town, on Wednesday, April 4.

 

Health and well-being activities: Monaghan Sports Partnership have kindly funded some additional health and well-being activities for the club. We are currently hosting a range of activities. Booking is essential as places are limited and some classes are already full. Pilates and Mindfulness are adult-only. Walking Wednesdays: Our Ireland Lights Up walks have concluded for 2023. Thanks to our regular attendees and organisers. As part of our enhanced health & well-being activities in conjunction with Monaghan Sports Partnership, we are continuing our Walking Wednesday programme. All welcome!
