Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 12, 17, 21 and 24. Jackpot of €1,600 not won. This week's four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: Dáire McKenna c/o Joe Finlay (Hurling Club); Therese Croarkin c/o ClubZap; Seán McCabe c/o ClubZap; and Gráinne McKenna c/o Maria McKenna. The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Joe Finlay. Jackpot for Sunday, April 2 is €1,700. Thanks to everyone for their continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club and is funding our current development works. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday.

 

Easter Egg Hunt: We will be joining with Muineachán Le Gaeilge to host an Easter Egg Hunt this Sunday, April 2, starting at 3pm at our clubhouse. Please register in advance via our social media.

 

Charity Match: Owen Connell and Mary White recently presented the cheque for the proceeds of our annual charity match to Monica Treanor, Philip Connolly and Barry Sullivan from Solas Monaghan. Thanks to everyone who raised money, sold raffle tickets and the local businesses who sponsored the spot prizes.

 

Saturday-morning coaching: Our juvenile Gaelic football coaching for 4-9-year-olds is kicking off this Saturday, April 1, at Gavan Duffy Park from 10-11am. New members can register on the morning; please aim to arrive early to minimise traffic congestion. Please feel free to circulate this to any friends, family members etc. who might be interested in bringing their kids down for the first time. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

 

Ladies' Club table quiz: Thank you so much to everyone who supported our Ladies' Club's fundraiser last Friday. We are so grateful for the generosity shown by everyone who supported the table quiz. Special thanks to Mark and Amber Quinn and to fear an tí Joe Ó Gallchóir. Thanks to our committee members who worked tirelessly to ensure the fundraiser was a success. Go raibh maith agaibh.

 

Safeguarding/coaching: We hosted a Safeguarding 1 workshop in our clubhouse last Saturday. Thanks to everyone who attended, to our Children's Officer Eimear McKenna for organising and to tutor Conor Fadian. We will also host a coach induction evening in the clubhouse tomorrow (Friday) at 8pm. Any new/aspiring coaches are very welcome to attend.

 

Reserves: We have two RFL games this weekend. Our first Division 3B game sees us host Killanny on Saturday at 6pm, before our Division 1A team play away to Truagh on Sunday at 2pm.

 

IFL: The Intermediate Football League is due to start on Saturday, April 15, with a home game against Castleblayney.

 

Juveniles: Our U-13s began the Spring League with a double-header away to Magheracloone last Saturday. Round two is at home to Clontibret this Saturday. The U-15 Football League is due to start next Thursday, April 6.

 

Cultúr: Comhghairdeas to Zoe McDonald, Dearbhla Marron, Fionn Marron, Ciara Ó Riordan, Ellie McMahon and Saorlaith McKenna for representing our club in solo singing, recitation and music group in the Ulster Scór na nÓg semi-final last Saturday. Dearbhla progresses to the Ulster final, which will be held in Threemilehouse on April 15. Well done also to Aoibhinn Craven, who sang Amhrán na bhFiann at the Ulster U-20 FC game in Clones.

 

Seisiún ceoil: CCÉ Baile Mhuineacháin's monthly session returned to our clubhouse last Sunday. Well done to everyone involved.

 

Online club shop: Our online PlayrFit club shop closed last weekend. Thanks to Mary White for co-ordinating.

 

Registration: Thanks to everyone who has renewed their membership for 2023 so far: your continued support is appreciated. GRMA to our registrar Kevin Treanor for his efforts. It is essential that all players are registered in advance of training commencing. Please avail of this opportunity to register for the year ahead. Míle buíochas.

 

County: Well done to Kevin Loughran and the county senior footballers on securing NFL Division One status and to the Monaghan U-20 and minor teams who also picked up wins last weekend.

 

DIL: Darkness Into Light returns to Monaghan Town in the early hours of May 6, with registration now open. The 2023 launch for both Cavan and Monaghan will take place in the Kilmore Hotel, Cavan Town, next Wednesday, April 4.

 

Health and well-being activities: Monaghan Sports Partnership have kindly funded some additional health and well-being activities for the club. We are currently hosting a range of activities. Booking is essential as places are limited and some classes are already full. Pilates and Mindfulness are adult-only. Club app: As well as offering an option to support our lotto, our new club app also has a function to pay your annual membership, make financial donations to the club, as well as a communication suite for all that goes on at the club. You can get involved by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.
