Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 4, 6, 8 and 24. Jackpot of €5,000 won by Gretta Byrne c/o Ann Treanor. Congratulations to Gretta, who becomes our second jackpot winner of 2023! Jackpot for Sunday, November 26 is €1,000. Thanks to everyone for their continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club and is funding our ongoing development works. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday.

 

AGM: We held a well-attended AGM in the clubhouse last Thursday, November 16. Club Chairman Peter Coyle and Secretary Brenda McConnon gave comprehensive reports on the year, thanking the many people who have kept the club progressing in all sectors. Patrick Cunningham presented the financial report, while other reports included hurling; handball (Eugene McGinnity); ladies' football (Fiona Sherry); health and wellbeing (Úna Forde); culture (Jackie Reilly); and juveniles (Dick Clerkin). We paid our respects on the night to the club members and family members who have passed away in the last 12 months.

Some roles, such as Youth Officer, Coaching Officer and Registrar, have been held over to our next meeting. Sincere thanks must go to our club officers for their efforts this year. We thank our outgoing Youth Officer Pádraig Callan and long-serving Registrar Kevin Treanor for their valuable service to the club. We welcome the new members of our club committee and wish them all the best in the next 12 months and beyond.

 

Juvenile AGM: Our Juvenile AGM is scheduled for next Monday, November 27, in the clubhouse at 7pm.

 

County: Well done and best of luck to Gary Devlin, Jake McConnon, Seán Callan, Michael McMorrow, Luke McManus (U-20) and Mark Lynch, Shea Corrigan and Josh Cassidy (minor), who have all been selected on county panels for 2024.

 

Schools: While our 2023 club season has wrapped up at all levels, we wish good luck to all our young players currently representing the club in schools' and third-level competitions.

 

Movember: Almost 30 club members are in the final straight of Movember, with a night in the clubhouse planned for Saturday week, December 2. The Movember championship has seen Monaghan GAA join forces with the local Crocus Men's Den to raise funds for Crocus Cancer Support Centre and awareness of Men's Health. All donations are appreciated: see online or contact any of our participants.

 

Culture night: After a very successful year in Scór competitions for our adult and juvenile competitors, our Cultural committee have prepared a culture night to showcase our singing, dancing, musical and novelty acts. This will take place in our clubhouse next Friday, December 1, from 6.30pm. Donations to MS Ireland Monaghan Branch are welcome on the night, MS charity Christmas cards will be on sale. GRMA. All welcome for what promises to be a great evening of ceol agus craic.

 

Sympathy: Cumann Cláirsigh Mhuineacháin express sympathies to Fiona Sherry, Ladies' Club Secretary, on the passing of her father. We also send our condolences to the Smyths on the passing of Anne. We keep them all in our thoughts at this time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha.
