Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday's draw were 4, 7, 14 and 26. The four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were Chris O'Connell c/o Paddy Donnelly; Ann Hogan c/o Mairéad White; Niall Greenan (direct debit) c/o senior footballers; and €40 Joe Coyle c/o ClubZap. Jackpot for Sunday, November 8 is €1,900. The club is asking members willing and financially able to contribute through our lotto towards club maintenance and running expenses. This can be done by two options: set up a standing order to our club lotto via quarterly or annual payments or using our new club app by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone, registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member and buying club lotto in bulk or on a weekly basis. Anyone interested can contact either Rose Donnelly (086 0825782); Maria McKenna (086 1057725) or Adrian Dalton (087 7859582). Thanks to everyone for their continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club, particularly this year. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday, while physical tickets should be with the lotto committee by 9pm.

AGM: A chairde, with current restrictions we are unsure of the format for our AGM. As things stand, we hope to go ahead and hold the AGM on Thursday. November 26. As a result of restrictions, we will try to do as much preparation online as possible. Subsequently, we ask all paid-up members to email Secretary.monaghanharps.monaghan@gaa.ie so that we can forward information/nomination forms. Completed nomination forms can be posted in a sealed envelope into the postbox outside the Harps complex by Sunday, November 8 at 1pm. Please note that only paid-up members on October 31, 2020 can submit nomination forms, seek election or vote at our Annual General Meeting (Rule 2.1 (g) Official Guide Part 1 2020 – with special provision made due to Covid-19). Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Seniors: A message from our senior football manager Paddy Kelly: A chairde, it's been just over five weeks since we won the Monaghan Intermediate Championship for 2020. A year to be forever remembered mostly for the devastating consequences of the COVID 19 pandemic. However, the Monaghan Harps senior team also made memories for the history books. Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to celebrate our fantastic achievement the way we truly deserved but most importantly we didn't get the opportunity to thank the people who helped and played a massive part on our journey to our captain Ógie McAnespie lifting the Paddy O'Rourke Cup on that glorious Saturday evening in Clones. Firstly, I want to thank the Monaghan Harps club and committee for giving me the opportunity and having the faith in me to manage these inspiring young men, and also the support and backing to realise our vision to bring this team back to senior football. I want to thank our main sponsor Barry Lavery of Monar and the sponsors and businesses from Monaghan Town for their continued support in these challenging times. Our club supporters for the help and encouragement throughout our campaign. We were well aware of your disappointment at being unable to see us play and support us from the terraces, but this drove us on all the more to win every game. Our backroom team of Ryan, Steven, Mickey, Aaron, Colm, and Seán our kitman, the attention to detail was of the highest quality. Our team medic/physio Dale. Our COVID officer Ciarán who did a brilliant job ensuring we were in a safe and secure environment when we were together. We want to thank the families, wives and partners who made sacrifices to support this team week after week. I, on behalf of our management team, want to thank our players for their commitment and their sacrifices to fulfil their goal of winning the championship. The standards they set and respect for their club is something that needed to be noted. The honesty and unity of this squad are a few of the many qualities they possess. I apologise if this message seems long-winded, but I felt it was time to acknowledge the people that played their part in our success.

Best wishes: From everyone at the club to Christopher McGonnell, who recently returned home after undergoing stem-cell treatment for MS in Moscow.

Green Ribbon campaign: Cavan and Monaghan GAA are jointly supporting the Green Ribbon campaign to end mental health stigma and to encourage anyone who is struggling to cope to reach out to others for help. Both counties are also actively engaging with the HSE in Cavan-Monaghan to identify and to advertise the critical support services that are available to individuals and to families. Visit yourmentalhealth.ie for information and signposting on all mental health supports and services that are available nationally & locally provided by the HSE & funded partners.

Club app: As well as offering an option to support our lotto, our new club app also has a function to pay your annual membership, make financial donations to the club, as well as a communication suite for all that goes on at the club. You can get involved by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.
