Seniors: We fell to a disappointing defeat at home to Magheracloone in the Greenfield Foods Senior Football Championship on Saturday. Points from Kevin Loughran, Neil McAdam, Dean Doherty, Michael Galligan and Dean Fanning had us up by 0-6 to 0-4 at half-time, but Magheracloone started the second half strongly with four quick scores. Our lads responded with a brace from Neil to get back on level terms, but we could only manage two points (frees by Éimhín Morahan and Neil) in the last 20 minutes as Magheracloone pushed on to win by 0-14 to 0-10.

Team and scorers: Conor Callan; David Lowry, Aodhán Óg McAnespie (Capt.), Conn O'Hanlon; Conor Galligan, Kevin Loughran (0-1), Nicholas Scott; Neil McAdam (0-4f), Dylan McKenna; Dean Doherty (0-1), Conor McCrystal, Thomas Croarkin; Michael Galligan (0-1f), Dean Fanning (0-2f), Liam Hahessy.

Subs: Lochlainn Power for Croarkin (20 mins); Shane Smyth for Fanning (33); Éimhín Morahan (0-1f) for Hahessy (43); Gary White for McCrystal (inj., 44); Kevin Moran for Scott (inj., 58).

This result has pushed our fate in this group stage out of our hands, but we still have one game to play against Castleblayney in Emyvale on Friday week, November 5.

U-13: Our U-13 Division Two team had a good win at home to Truagh in an exciting championship semi-final last Saturday (2-8 to 1-9). The momentum swung a couple of times during an even first half, where Deagan Doherty hit the only goal to send our lads in leading by 1-6 to 0-5. Odhrán Kelly, Joseph O'Neill, Josh Cassidy and Kyle Lavery also contributed scores and although Truagh hit the net after the restart, a second goal from Deagan kept the Harps narrowly ahead. Goalkeeper Lewis Duffy and all five defenders worked hard to keep out a dangerous Truagh attack, while Conor Farmer and Josh continued to run tirelessly in the middle. Truagh got back onto level terms midway through the second half, but points from Joseph and Deagan guided our U-13s into their second final of the year, following their Shield win in early September.

Team and scorers: Lewis Duffy; Ruairí Smyth, Andrew McKenna; Charlie O'Brien, Joe Gunn (Capt.), Alex Flynn; Josh Cassidy (0-2), Conor Farmer; Odhrán Kelly (0-2f), Joseph O'Neill (0-2), Deagan Doherty (2-1, 0-1f); Kyle Lavery (0-1), Cayden McDonald.

The championship final against Killanny is set for this Sunday at 12 noon in Drumhowan. Good luck to everyone involved. All support welcome!
