IFC: We lost out away to Carrickmacross in the McElvaney Recycling Intermediate Football Championship last Sunday. Points from Michael Galligan, Neil McAdam and Luke McManus kept us in touch early on, but Carrick put wind advantage to good use as they built up a 1-11 to 0-6 half-time lead. Daragh Croarkin, Dean Doherty and Dylan McKenna added their names to the scoresheet during the second half, but Carrick put the game beyond reach with their second goal. We host Emyvale in our final Group Two game this Sunday at 2pm.

Team and scorers: Daragh Croarkin (0-1); Gary Devlin, Jake McConnon, Shane Moran; Dean Doherty (0-1); Kevin Moran, Aodhán Óg McAnespie, Kevin Loughran; Lochlainn Power, Dylan McKenna (0-2); Neil McAdam (0-1), Conor McCrystal (Capt.), Seán Callan; Michael Galligan (0-5, 3f), Luke McManus (0-1).

Sponsors: Thanks to Dick Clerkin from Clerkin Consulting and John McClave for being the match-day ball sponsors for this weekend. If your family or business would like to be the match-day ball sponsor, please contact Brenda McConnon.

Ladies: Good luck to our senior ladies in their championship semi-final this Sunday away to Aughnamullen.

Minors: Our minors got off the mark in the Division One championship with a home win over Carrickmacross last Saturday. Eoin Sheridan and Jack and Mark Lynch were on target early on and although Carrick rallied to take the lead, a goal from Jack had our lads on level terms at half-time: 1-6 to 2-3. A strong second-half performance saw our lads push on for a good win, with Ethan McCaffrey and Eoin finding the net and Orrin Doherty, Oisín Brannigan, Dara Mullin and Kyle Lavery also joining our list of scorers. Next up for the Division One team is a home game against Clontibret on Saturday week, September 21. We wish Josh Cassidy a speedy recovery from his injury.

Team and scorers: Alex Flynn; Shay Lambe, Josh Cassidy, Dáire McKenna; John Sherry, Mark Lynch (0-1), Daniel Alexis; Orrin Doherty (0-1), Shea Corrigan; Oisín Brannigan (0-1), Jack Lynch (1-3, 0-1f), Dara Mullin (0-1); Eoin Sheridan (1-7, 0-3f), Kyle Lavery (0-2), Ethan McCaffrey (1-1).

Subs used: Conor Farmer; Shane McGarry; Joe Gunn.

Our minor Division Four team host Scotstown in a championship semi-final this Saturday at 2pm.

U-14: Our U-14 Division 5A team contest their championship final against Scotstown on Sunday morning at 11am in Threemilehouse. Good luck to all involved. Please support.

U-12: Well done to our U-12 teams on two great wins in last Saturday's league semi-finals. First up, our Division One boys won a goal-fest away to Clontibret on Saturday morning to qualify for a final meeting with Magheracloone. The Division Four lads came from five points down at half-time to see off Truagh with a strong second-half performance at Gavan Duffy Park on Sunday. Their Shield decider will be against either Donaghmoyne or Inniskeen.

Sponsor a Seat: To celebrate and promote the continued development of our facilities at Gavan Duffy Park, we are offering the opportunity to sponsor/dedicate all remaining seats in our stand at a cost of €50.
