This week's four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: Hugh Cadden c/o Jim Dalton (Hurling Club); Patricia McCann c/o Paddy Donnelly; K & G Morgan c/o Eileen Morgan; and Richard McCaughey (direct debit). The sellers' prize of €20 was won by Jim Dalton. Jackpot for Sunday, October 1 is €4,300. Thanks to everyone for their continued support for our lotto, which plays an integral part for the club and is funding our current development works. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday.

Healthy Club Award: We have been awarded a Silver Healthy Club Award. This is largely due to the hard work of our Healthy Club Officer Úna Forde, who makes sure our policies and procedures all meet requirements and strives to bring new initiatives year on year. Congratulations and GRMA to Úna and everyone involved.

Scór: Congratulations to all who took part in Scór Sinsir. Our two quiz teams represented us well on Thursday night. Go raibh maith agaibh. Congratulations to our winners on Friday: Eoin McCleary (recitation) and our music group of Oisín Reilly, Órla Corrigan, Aisling O'Riordan, Tara Gilsenan and Leah Reilly. Well done also to Tara Gilsenan, who was second in solo singing. With all this, we won the best club of the night. GRMA to Brian Clerkin and Joe Ó Gallchóir for all the help. The Ulster Scór Sinsir semi-finals will take place on October 7 and 8 in Killeavy, Co Armagh.

U-11 blitz: On Sunday morning past, the club hosted a development blitz inviting U-11 teams from Clontibret, Truagh and Castleblayney. Fortunate with the good early morning weather conditions, a large crowd of travelling parents, mentors and spectators enjoyed an excellent morning of football, with all games played in a sporting and competitive manner. A feature of the day was the skills awards for each game, kindly sponsored by Dermot McDermott, Sports Centre Monaghan, that recognised players who demonstrated the core skills of the game to a high standard. After the games, players and spectators enjoyed refreshments kindly provided by the parents and club members of the Monaghan Harps club, marking a fitting end to what was a thoroughly enjoyable day for all involved. The blitz also served as a test run on the fantastic new training pitch, that will make a welcome return next season for all the Harps teams, along with hosting similar occasions to that which was enjoyed last Sunday. Huge thanks to all parents and club members who helped out on the day.

Table Quiz: Save the date for our fundraising table quiz on Friday week, October 6. All support greatly appreciated; looking forward to seeing you all there!

IFC: We await the winners of this Sunday's quarter-final between Killanny and Castleblayney in the semi-finals of the Intermediate Football Championship on the weekend of October 14/15.

U-17: Hard luck to our U-17 Division Four team who lost out in the Championship Final v Scotstown in Emyvale on Monday night. Goals by Daniel Alexis and Ethan McCarron helped get us off to a flying start and although Scotstown rallied midway through the first half, some determined defending, coupled with good saves by Alex Flynn, kept us ahead. Points from James Gunn and Jack Kierans helped us lead by 2-4 to 0-7 at half-time, while Shane McGarry, Luke Swift and Conor Farmer added their names to the scoresheet during the second half. Another goal from Daniel Alexis was quickly cancelled out, however, by Scotstown, who went on to hit the net again late on to edge it on a scoreline of 2-13 to 3-8.

Team and scorers: Alex Flynn; Adam Richardson, Ryan Grant; Julian Coyle, Dáire McKenna, Daniel Aughey; Ethan McCarron (1-0), Jack Kierans (Joint-Capt., 0-2); Daithí Devlin, Shane McGarry (0-1), Daniel Alexis (Joint-Capt., 2-1); James Gunn (0-2), Winston Onkeweke.

Subs used: Luke Swift (0-1); Kyle Lavery; Conor Farmer (0-1); Josh Cassidy.

Panel also included: Diarmuid McGinnity; Kyle Murray; Rohann Malocca-McKenna; Jake Cassidy.

Our Division One team host St. Tiarnach Patricks this Sunday at 12 noon.

U-15: Our U-15s fell to a narrow defeat at home to Tyholland in the last round of their Division Two championship group stage last Saturday. The result left us in a three-way tie at the top of the table along with Tyholland and Emyvale. Following a draw, the first place in the final went to Tyholland, leaving us to play a semi-final away to Emyvale next Tuesday night.

Team and scorers: Alex Flynn; Conor Farmer (Joint-Capt., 0-1), Ruairí Smyth; Andrew McKenna, Charlie O'Brien, Seán Lambe; Kyle Lavery (0-4, 2f), Josh Cassidy (0-1); Joe Gunn (Joint-Capt.), Joseph O'Neill, Deagan Doherty (0-1); Lewis Duffy (0-2), Rhys Coyle.

Subs used: Gabriel Cunningham; Calum McCaffrey.

Saturday-morning coaching: Our juvenile Gaelic football coaching for 4-9-year-olds continues for three more Saturday mornings from 10-11am, wrapping up for the year with our annual fun day and sponsored walk on October 7.

You can get involved by downloading 'ClubZap' on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.
